    I'd be so happy to hear Jim Lampley's voice....

    It's been years of abysmal commentary, and this takes me back to the good ole days of HBO boxing!

    I take Barry Tompkins over Lampley. Barry didn't talk as much as Jim, and didn't come across as a know-it-all like Jim.

    It's true. The new fighter and/or celebrity heavy commentary teams both dumb down the sport and make it seems trashier and less grand IMO.

    I think Chris Algieri would be great if he got on with some of the bigger shows.

    I agree. The good old days. Lamply and Merchant. It was really awesome. Merchant really knew how to break down a fight. Plus he nearly got in a fist fight with Floyd Mayweather, live, on HBO. I'll never forget that.

    The fight was awful, but hearing Lampley and seeing Neit ringside just made it a tad magical.
