Spot on fella. I’m from a town where people are afraid to visit the town centre and where over a thousand underage girls got raped by Muslim grooming gangs. If he spent a week living here he’d soon change his mind.

 

If not wanting thousands of free loading immigrants a week coming across on boats causing havoc, eating into our taxes and generally being feral scumbags makes you right wing then call me David Beckham.

 

Firstly, I’m not left wing I’m about centre overall and don’t affix my views to the left or right, I have views on both. I base my views on logic and evidence.

Can you quote some figures and source them? Then we could have a proper debate. Though I agree this isn’t the place for it.

You made it about immigrants, those are some examples of boxers who wouldn’t be here without immigrants. It’s not about race (hence including Calzaghe). Your putting it on race is very defensive.

I can see why he moved to the right, as Hull was a pretty prosperous place 20–25 years ago.

There was a thriving student population, and two universities brought a lot of foot traffic to local businesses and private landlords. However, since one of the Universities relocated, the area has experienced a rapid decline.

There was no money for regeneration, leading to many empty properties; big companies bought up all the prime student locations literally by the street, and private landlords unable to compete were forced to turn their accommodation into HMO's, which attracted the lowest of the low.

Now, all you hear about the place is bad news, especially after an immigrant murdered a student in the heart of the student area, which used to be the safest place in the city.

 

I’m not getting involved in a debate, there’s been enough of that. I thought this was a British Boxing Forum. In the past, I’ve read posts from people on here saying how much they aren’t interested in ‘ boxing politics ‘. How ironic.

 

They are not the same thing. Surley you can see that. One is bull**** full of snakes that make no difference to my life at all the other is bull**** full of snakes that makes big differences to me and my families lives.

 

Come on mate your reaction is a bit over the top, this is a rarity on here, after what happened the last couple of days it's sparked a bit of back n forth. It's not like people are in here constantly pushing politics. 1 thread every couple of years make no difference to the boxing talk.

As much as I can’t stand Reform they’re never going to do that. Insurance based systems don’t have to be like the US version.

I'd no idea Campbell was running, good on him, if he's the same in "real life" as he was throughout his entire career that's a blow to the popular view reform/ ukip etc are nothing but pissed up racist skinheads. Not saying for sure I'd vote for them but it's not as ridiculous a prospect as it once was to me.

 

I'm not aligned with Reform's politics, but Luke Campbell is a good egg and I am sure he is going to this with the absolute intention of doing his best for the people of Hull and East Yorkshire. I can only say best of luck to him.
