As of right now, Schwartz's rematch of the century with Senad Gashi, scheduled for tomorrow, has not been taken down.

 

There's enough time before the bell rings that I expect this right to be called off.....then back on..... possibly then off again

 

Or it will be one of those where both sides just forget to show up.

 

There's been a federal election on in Australia this week-end. But I checked in on the Bakole fight which seemed to have been bad for both participants.

So - taking out Usyk as two fights off retirement, and Fury and maybe Joshua as on their way out ... who else is a factor now going forward besides Parker/Kabayel/Huni/Wardley/Hrgovic ... Itauma (unproven)? It's looking a bit bleak.

Somebody is bound to step up. Other than CST80, i don't think many would have predicted in 2019 that Usyk was going to be undisputed champ at heavyweight.

It's not great, but its not nothing.

 

It takes a little while after the old guys retire for the new guys to build themselves up. Fury, Joshua, Usyk etc took up all the space in the division leaving less for younger guys to gain popularity and build hype.

Now that they are going though, we will see new blood coming through and developing. A bunch of possible names, but 3 or 4 should come through as a competitive next generation.

To me Wilder, Fury, and Joshua should retire. There is only so much money to go around and so many main events to be made. Those guys from yesterday had their time. They should have been fighting each other when it mattered, now I don’t care anymore. They are just taking up space and resources from the new up and comers and guys like Parker and Kabayel.

 

I understand where you are coming from with those above ... Gurgen and Jalolov seem to have some of the early shine dim of late. Gaz and Torrez maybe lack the size to absorb heavy hitters. Any of the above stepping up is going to be interesting tho.

 

Dainier Pero has a fight listed on Friday against some guy called Cesar Navarro.

Also last week Thabiso Mchunu fought and won via SD against some random guy. Mchunu's next fight is listed on February 28th 2026 in Congo, in what is a hugeee card. 50 or so fights.

Brandon Moore will face Stanley Wright on June 6th in an IBHOF week fight card. Also some cat named Pryce Taylor, who is a heavyweight will appear against Ed Fountain, also known as Tex Trismigistus.

 

Get him against new champ Badou Jack now!
