As a classic fan, yanks also need to know that the best of American 'slickness' originally comes from Wales. The best Welsh trainers (like Dollings) moved to places like New York and trained guys like Arcel. Not coincidentally, the first 'American slick' fighters start appearing in New York soon after. One of the first 'slick' fighters on film is Driscoll who was Welsh.

Even yank slickness is actually indebted to Britain  Of course it has been corrupted by Americanism as time has gone on.

 Interesting but hardly surprising to me. The old school of American slickness was a skill based school like the British and Cossack ones not a fear based one

It's also worth pointing out that many British and non-American fighters have been corrupted by the American modern school of slickness due to either idolizing American practitioners of that style or enlisting the services of American trainers who studied at that school and many have been turned to the dark side and started weight bullying and juicing for the exact same reason too. Roy is solely to blame for the later of course

Turki needs to pay a decent purse while offering fight/performance/KO of the night bonuses, similar to the UFC. Personally, I have always thought that purses should be geared towards a winner/loser split once all the A side/B side cobblers is all sorted out.

There's too much incentive to sign on the dotted line without any kind of performance related reward or penalty. Turki has the means with which to change the whole business of boxing and although many of the cards have been incredible, I still think more needs to change to truly get the best out of everyone involved.

Im confident that the Inoue card will save the weekend. Naoya Inoue and Rafael Espinoza will definitely make sure they put on a good show.

As long as people pay for this crap, they'll continue to shovel it out. I didn't have to pay for it so I turned the Canelo fight off in the 8th round rather than continue that nauseating imitation of a fight....

Horrible week for boxing. Half of the sports stars go and put out sparring matches back to back to back. Has all the mma stans talking crap and rightfully so.

This era of boxing is one of the worst since Ive been a fan... not in terms of actual talent maybe but in terms of mentality and ambition.

Thankfully theres still a few out there carrying the torch.
