If Colchester v Crawley charged extortionate prices and put the match on PPV and could still generate £20m worth of revenue then that would justify it too, demand and supply. I'm not disagreeing that the fight is worth little other than to the 2 fighters and their teams.
As an £84 subscriber, I’ll be giving tonight and next weekend’s offerings the cold shoulder. At least I can join the casuals tonight.
I was able to cancel my 7 day DAZN trial online. Pleasantly surprised as I thought they would have insisted on a phone call.
DAZN UK Subscribers hit hard this weekend with two cards during the night on DAZN but both on DAZN Box Office. Really astonished when I checked the schedule. Bit peeved as well that the Little Monster is fighting during the night as well on Sky Sports but in the early hours of Monday morning. UK boxing fans getting it hard up them this weekend from all angles.
They don't have a phone service anymore as it disappeared about the same time the DAZN UK channel went missing on the Sky Platform.
It really is lunacy that these two fights aren't part of the sub. Reckon about 100 will buy tonight's cards?
That show last night was utter garbage. It felt like them car park shows in Covid that were on Fight Zone. The ring was fenced off so nobody in Times Square could actually see and zero atmosphere lead to lacklustre fights.
I agree. One of the worst boxing shows in years. Jim Lampley said it rightly that if you could turn what we've witnessed tonight into pills, you'd have the perfect sleeping pill.
DAZN should write an email apologizing to the subscribers who bought the PPV package (Friday and Saturday) and maybe refund part of the amount ? I was really looking forward to this weekend but what a disappointment. It was a bit like New Year's Eve without the fireworks.
The best card of the weekend was the only non-PPV one. These ‘invite only’ Saudi events are literally giving the fighters no incentive to promote or even perform. No tickets to be sold and they don’t even need to try and sell a PPV as they’re already vastly overpaid for the fight. They’re fighting in front of a load of people who are being paid to be there, who don’t care if they’re any good or not, and the lacklustre atmospheres are on par with the lack of enthusiasm of the fighters it seems.
I don’t get what you actually get for being a DAZN subscriber these days? If Ryan Garcia v Rolly Romero is PPV in the UK then there’s zero point signing up.
