Isn't this the guy with the record for the most UFC losses in a row? I'm talking the winner not Tyrone Spong.
Technically not, because he did have a draw mixed in the middle of his loss streak. Meanwhile Mokaev is also relegated to fighting on Karate Combat. After all of his bolstering, he can´t even get a half decent MMA promotion to sign him? Amazing.
Jup, that’s him. I believe Alvey hadn’t won in like eight straight fights in the UFC (at Middleweight/Light-Heavyweight). However, he’s looked pretty solid at Heavyweight outside the UFC since. Smilen Sam has a nice win streak going in Karate Combat and is currently the reigning champion. Still, it broke my heart seeing Spong get knocked out by someone who, in his prime, would never have lasted more than a minute with him…
Me too, I have followed him since he turned pro in kickboxing and a guy like Alvey shouldn’t last past the first minute if Spong took the fight half serious. Spong haven’t fought kickboxing since he broke his leg against Saki in -14, that leg break put a lot of fear in his head.
Mokaev burned a lot of bridges and is delusional enough to out price himself with any other MMA org, he was begging UFC to take him back not long ago.
pretty much all of the K-1 guys from the 00s still hanging around are in pretty shape these days, and JLB is still lingering around from the early 90s. Shocking to see him in his current state.
Should’ve switched to boxing right after K1 folded instead of wasting his time in Glory. Could’ve been a decent CW.
This content is protected Coincidentally Spong was the last opponent JLB looked world class against. 15 years ago. Crazy..... JLB should have retired after the Koichi Pettas fights in 2012-2013. Ending on a high note against a somewhat capable operator. It was clear by that point as evidenced by the Zimmerman and Kharitonov fights that he was over the hill by that stage.
This is sad, always been one of my favourite fighters. Was a killer in his prime, and a talented fighter.
