I think Inoue fighting in Japan gives him a huge advantage. When he went down against Nery he was still cocky as hell and taunting him. I think the atmosphere definitely got to him. That’s what makes fighters like Money May so great, he doesn’t allow that kind do stuff to impact him. Watching the fight yesterday also made me think Cool Boy was probably impacted quite negatively when he fought Inoue in Japan. He looked nervous and a bit shaky and didn’t have that cool boy swag.
Just had a bit of an ‘off’ night fighting here in the states. It happens! Especially in a new atmosphere! Not everyone can be Usyk! And Inoue still got the win in pretty impressive fashion.
Well… let’s be honest doe! Usyk (Unlike floyd) can always fight ANYWHERE and without EVERY deck stacked in his favor!
I mean I love Usyk but he got a huge controversial call when he got knocked down by a body shot on the belt against Dubois. He definitely gets advantages, just like most p4p guys Who you think will win MVP this year btw? Shai or Jokic?
It didn't matter where he was fighting at. Inoue was dropped by Nery in Japan and then got dropped by Cardenas in the US, both times because he got overly eager. Against Nery there was a lot of pressure on him to avenge the Japanese people and with Cardenas it was more about putting on a show while sharing the same weekend with Canelo and Ryan Garcia. Dumb mistake for him to rush forward both times but the point is he got up, shook it off and still proceeded to kick ass afterwards as if nothing happened. That says more about his mental strength and ability to recover quickly. The results was always going to be the same regardless how Fulton was feeling. He was never going to beat Inoue.
"Cool Boy" was impacted by being totally outmatched and in with a clearly better fighter. I always thought it was odd how many were picking Fulton ahead of that fight.
Not sure if fighting in USA had anything to do with it but he looked a bit over-confident at times. Prior to Cardenas, he had just beaten two incredibly soft challengers.
What makes you so sure that it would be any more different than what we saw when they fought? Nobody wants to see a rematch between those two because it’ll be the same outcome.
I don't think the setting had anything to do with Inoue's performance. Because of Inoue's style of fighting, the guys that are most threatening to him are those with a "Mexican style", who can take the heat and instinctually throw in between Inoue's shots. I don't think it is a coincidence the two guys who have knocked him down are Nery and Cardenas. Saying that I think Inoue was in good form in this fight; after he adjusted to the early knockdown the ferocity and volume of power shots he was throwing in the later rounds was frightening.
I get what you’re saying kind of, but he looked way slower and sloppier in the Cardenas fight. Maybe it’s credit to Cardenas. Nery fight wasn’t competitive after the KD, the Cardenas fight was.
