If he trained from the time he was very young with really good coaches, i think he has the genetics and mindset to be a champion. Not an all-time great. Maybe like a Samuel Peters type.

Something to consider is French boxing is nowhere near the platform to become known that being in the UFC is. Even if you're actually pretty good you're probably gonna be languishing in obscurity in France until/unless a big name chooses to fight you like 10 years into your career. So with that in mind, he choose the right path. The UFC made him (and Gane) a star very quickly.

I think hed have done really well and I dont say that about many UFC fighters.

People can say whatever they want, the actual reality is that almost beating Tyson Fury in your debut boxing match is beyond incredible.

Maybe not champion material (but maybe so) but its hard to say... definitely would have been a top 8 type boxer though for an era. The type to win some lose some against his peers.

I think you would need some good power to deal with him properly. He has a good enough chin that if you dont have good power, he will walk through your shots, not respect you and start imposing himself.

Would have been interesting to have him as a contender.
