He wouldn't be king, but there were beltholders in that era that would have been totally demolished by Joshua.
Plus it was much easier to get away with juicing back then, so for all we know Joshua would be a total roid monster.

Tua, Ibeabuchi, Mercer, Bowe, Holyfield and Lewis? No chance.

If the guys like Bruno, Botha, Seldon and Moorer were title holders and even champions, there is no debate that AJ could have achieved that too. Top 10 of the 90's for sure.

behave, lad. Tua, Ike and Mercer never even won a world title

They didn't prove themselves on the big stage in their biggest fights like Joshua did with his win of Wlad.

prime Joshua beats them three and probably beats Bowe. And loses to Holyfield and Lewis.

100% he would minimum have won a world title. and would have definitely have been in the top 10.

In that company he'd do fine.

The bigger problem for Joshua is he didn't cope well with losses... And with the guys who were around, it's quite possible he'd have had them.

Maybe losing earlier and not being quite so dominant in the era would've made the losses easier for him to take and he'd have bounced back better... Or maybe he'd have had a good streak and then dropped like a stone.

Maybe he wouldn't be a cash cow and wouldn't be rushed as much as he was. Who knows. I'm just saying that since these guys were Top 10 and world title holders/champions, I don't see why AJ wouldn't be.

The 90's era was by far the best HW era in terms of talent and depth, this era is dog**** in comparison. The version of Ike who beat Tua and Byrd would have beaten any version of Joshua before he even stepped in the ring. To be fair to him, if he wasn't absolutely mental, he could've beaten Holyfield and maybe even Lewis. Either way, he would beat Joshua like Ruiz did, without hitting the canvas. Riddick Bowe from the first Holyfield fight would beat Joshua too, I'd bet the house on it.

Ruiz never won a title before he concussed aj lololol. After dubois smoked aj and made him beg for mercy surely you were smart enough to realize resumes dont win fights. Joshua beat some old men before getting destroyed by 2 of the 3 younger guys he faced.

All 3 of them were better than Ruiz and arguably better than anyone AJ ever beat.

There's too much nostalgic and nationalistic bias on this forum for the 90's and around that time. They get overrated massively

It was a better era than Joshua's...

But he'd probably have been somewhere in the mix as long as he learned how to handle losses (and he'd have been likely to have more if he'd fought at a high level then).

Joshua on here gets underrated if anything - he's not an all time head to head nightmare, but he was a solid fighter and a dominant champion who fought almost everyone relevant, and for a few years the only serious claimant to top dog status... Yes, not in the best of eras, but he'd certainly be way more than a journeyman in any era (ironic seeing someone who puts Stephan Shaw as a "fringe contender" in this era thinking Joshua would be a journeyman in the 90's - absolute nonsense!)

I know how you guys operate with your bias:

White fighters dominate a division: The division is weak

Black boxers dominate a division: The division is loaded with talent
