Glad he beat Benn but he is no world champion.

I´m still amazed that he only challenged for a world title once, given his popularity and generally decent resume.
Well, there was the GGG fight offer, and also one from Canelo. Loosing to Groves seems to have killed any ambition he once had.

The boxing would will be forever indebted to him for handing Conman Benn his first loss.

Giving a deluded egotist an ego boost is like giving a herione to a crackhead. He'll retire after beating a mediocre welterweight and claim he was boxing jesus like his father does bahaha

He was never good enough, outboxed by Saunders and a one-armed Groves, who was at the end of his career. Eubank is very intelligent and is a great PR strategist like his father. Canelo and Golovkin would've beaten him like Liam Smith did, and it would've damaged the Eubank brand name too much, so they never seriously pursued it. Eubank is a likeable guy; he's tough and has always been a fringe European-level fighter.

No shame in that, but he was never good enough to win a legitimate world title, which is why he was never that serious about pushing for these fights. Golovkin would've retired him in the mid 2010s, he knew it, his team knew it, which is why he pissed around with domestic level fighters for years before getting obliterated by Liam Smith.

He destroyed Smith in the rematch proving that like night follows day he was a better fighter than Smith who was a former world champion at Light Middleweight who had been in there with Canelo. The Canelo defeat did not destroy Smith’s career did it so you are being a bit dramatic. CEJ lost to Groves who was a very good world class Super Middleweight Champion and Groves ( incidentally my mate)had to fight a particular way to win but did get injured no doubt due to Eubank’s physicality. As for BJS that was a close fight of 2 halves. Some think CEJ won others think BJS won. Now Eubank beat former world champion Artur Abrahams a very tough guy and champion which is not easy and he basically retired James DeGale the supremely talented former world champion. Many try and claim DeGale was washed up something they won’t say if it was one of their favourites who beat him. The facts however don’t lie in that before the fight was made James DeGale was a reigning world champion who voluntarily gave up his belt to fight CEJ on PPV in a lucrative fight rather than defend his world title belt in a less lucrative fight. This means CEJ’s victory should have been for the world title but for the politricks of boxing. After the Crawfordwith Canelo it’s supposed to be CEJ vs Canelo next year so we shall see assuming of course Bud does not give Canelo a bad beating.
