Billy doesn’t sound very sure of himself here. It doesn’t sound like Bakole will let a nutritionist dictate what he eats.
I said earlier in the thread that the impression I get is that Billy is worried about Bakole leaving him and that’s why such indiscipline has manifested itself in his training camp. I saw a TikTok recently of Billy ranting about loads of trainers calling Bakole directly to try to poach him. Bakole will continue to do what he wants IMO. I’ll believe these changes when we see them. He may well secure an early KO in his next fight and convince himself he doesn’t need to drop weight.
He's like the second coming of Idi Amin.... How the hell do you get so huge being a veggie?... He must be eating 100s of kgs of yams or something
Probably eats loads of pasta, rice and cheese and gallons of milk and fizzy drinks. Being a vegetarian probably hampers is strength potential too. I remember Canelo tried a vegan diet for the Bivol fight and ditched it soon after. Bakole is a total shambles and it’s comical after all the hype from Billy. It’s easy to forget the Hunter fight too. The guy won’t get anywhere near a world title IMO.
I do agree that I bet Billy Nelson is bricking himself that Bakole defects, I'd imagine he's invested a whole lot of money on him and as soon as he gets 1 semi decent payday he turns into the Last King Of Scotland... Once tax and camp and sparring and travel etc is paid a few hundred grand might retire you in Congo but not in Scotland
Considering Bakole is a naturally big man who (should) be training regularly, the fact he can maintain and gain massive amounts of weight means he must eat a ridiculous amount of food. If he was shorter he'd probably look like Andy Ruiz.
Billy talking shite honestly, Bakole is in Aidrie ffs he has chips, macaroni pies and all sorts of crap at an arm’s reach wherever he goes!
Who else does Billy train these days? He's been banging the drum for Bakole for years, a couple of breakout wins have raised his profile and then two absolutely horrible performances..
Depending upon which source you believe, Bakole might have been paid millions for the Parker fight, in which case he is most definitely set for life (barring stupid decisions), along with a very handsome payday for Nelson as well if 10% of fighter purse for the trainer is still standard in boxing these days.
Well I belive the 600k figure for stepping in... Once all taxes and expenses and yams are paid I'd imagine there's not a lot of that left now
https://talksport.com/boxing/2951846/joseph-parker-purse-money-martin-bakole/ So depending what you believe it's between 475k and 3 million for Bakole.. Even if it's the 3 million he's probably walking away with less than 1,i heard Michael Moorer talking about this on Triss Dixon pod
