Most HW North Americans. I feel most of the avenues these people took into boxing no longer exist.

Part of why a Wilder emerged is that hitting crazy hard is the single most obvious boxing trait to identifty. One thats useful for just combat sports and nothing else.

 

Who knows maybe some would have gone into other sports with the opportunities today?

I could see someone like Ernie Terrell being a basketball player instead of a boxer. Abe Simon might be in football instead. I could see Tom Sharkey in MMA.
