He might do it if he gets out of the early rounds, Cooney looks impressive in highlights, but he had very poor stamina.

Moore on the other had had elite stamina and carried his power into the later rounds, and he definitely wasn’t featherfisted even at heavyweight.

Cooney certainly has a very high chance of doing him early, but if he doesn’t, then he’s finished.

Don't see Archie winning there tbh.
Something about the sheer size and strength of Cooney makes me think it's a bad fight for the mongoose.
Even though Archie is much more the skilled guy here.

Tua is too short to be a SHW. I think the general definition would be 6'4 and above and 230 lbs and above.

Remember what Cooney did to Ron Lyle and Ken Norton? They were considerably younger, bigger and stronger than Archie. When Archie uses that patented defensive tactic of his, you know the one, and Cooney lowers his left shoulder and bangs him in the ribs with hooks, do you think the Old Mongoose will shrug those off?

Evidently we are not talking of the best SHW around; but in any case I am 100% my man Archie beats the heck out of Fury.

What happens when Moore decks Cooney?

Archie Moore at his best had a good chance against any heavyweight regardless of size. Archie before he got too old and started struggling with his weight was amazing.

Norton and Lyle were also way past their prime when they fought Cooney while Archie aged well as a fighter.

That being said, I don’t think Cooney was as great as you seem to, I might can get him at the tail end of the top 50 all-time heavyweights if I squint my eyes, but this is not an optimal matchup for Moore. Although if he gets Cooney deep into the fight without getting popped he’s absolutely got a chance.

Moore feared no man. I'm convinced he would take on Lennox Lewis or Mike Tyson

Gerry Cooney was not a great fighter but he was a murderous puncher with his left hand. Ron Lyle and Ken Norton were better fighters than Gerry in their primes, I know. But both were big, strong and muscular heavyweights and they couldn't withstand Cooney's body punches for even a single round. I'd suggest you view those bouts again and imagine Archie being the recipient of those same body shots. I don't see it ending well for 1954-55 Moore or any other version of Archie.

The first is the Nevada one that would have become lineal if Moore didn't campaign Marciano to fight one last time. The second was recognized by the Canadians and didn't stick instead getting Moore a bye in the convuluted process of naming Marcianos successor.

Anyhow Valdes and Parker were 6 3 and 6 4.
