A small US sparring partner type HW who gets ironed out whenever he faces anyone with a name inside 1-2 rounds. Itauma by KO in 1-2 rounds. Learns nothing but it’s a good comeback fight and pads his record.
it’s fine to fight bums at first, but if he’s going to go that route, he needs to be fighting one per month. It’s likely he doesn’t get hit with anything other than a jab here, ends the fight in 1 round.
Gassiev knocked Balogun out in 2. Moses needs to do it earlier. Which is funny, since he said he wanted rounds, lol. Let's hope they will make Itauma vs Bakole next.
Hrgovic would be the best test. A reasonably skilled operator who has arguably the best chin in the division. If Ituama iced Hrgovic, that would be a massive statement. Hrgovic has even said he’d do it, right? He’s probably thinking he’s got a good shot of beating this prospect and upping his own rep (and he’s not wrong; Hrgovic is proven, Ituama is not, and against Hrgovic, Ituama is getting a chin check real quick). side note: Hrgovic-Bakole would be a fun one. I’d be pretty worried about Bakole going up against a durable guy with that kind of right hand timing/accuracy. Then again, I’d be worried about a one-fisted guy who is slow on his feet going up against Bakole.
Terrible opponent after 5 months sitting about. Will be an early ko and Itauma will learn nothing. He could stagnate unless he fights more frequently and at a better level. He's fought 1 round in 9 months !
Not interested, is this not a step down from the likes of McKean? I like Moses but commensurate to the level of hype he gets hes not fighting often enough and the opponent choices are disappointing, considering the noise they were making about the youngest heavyweight championship thing (marketing gimmick or not), id expect more frequent fights or higher calbire opponents, or both. Until then its really impossible to gauge how good he is, and what is he going to learn from a pushover fight AGAIN?
Once Itauma beats Balogun the plan is for him to headline a show in London in August / Septemnber, possibly against 40 year-old Albanian heavyweight Nelson Hysa (22-0 (20 KOs)).
Honestly sounds like they are putting Itauma on ice until all the belts become vacant. Lining him up to become the next generations champ.
He is meant to be fighting once every 2-3 months and by the time this fight happens it’s 6 months out the ring. Before the last fight it was also 6 months out the ring which I understand was due to an injury. He is meant to be knocking over cream puffs to build up a record and fight for a world title. Yes it is a comeback under that context.
Nah, he was supposed to fight this guy in April, but Hysa priced himself out. It was supposed to be on the undercard of Hrgovic vs Joyce. No way it will be main event.
