It's a good feat definitely, but Wlad was the clear king during that time.

A lot of people going for Ike here.

You could argue that Sanders and Peter held a higher ranking then anybody that Ike beat, on the dates when the fights took place.

Fighters miss punches in every fight. Byrd was fortunate.

Or are you also giving Eubank Jr. full credit for beating Korobov?

Byrd got his ass beaten in his next fight. That’s probably part of it.

Just like fighters land punches in every fight, lol. Vitali was missing a lot, more than usual, because of Byrd's slick defense.

Byrd quickly regained after the loss to Wladimir with wins over Tua, Holyfield, and was ranked in the top 10 and a champion whilst Vitali was active.

Again Byrd would've been Vitali’s best win of his career and it was a chance for Vitali to prove the 1st fight was a one off but again he didn't pursue it so obviously Vitali thought a rematch with Byrd was a risky fight.

Eubank Jr., King of Slickness. All hail Eubank Jr.

The man ended a guy’s career with his silky moves.

Vitali was on track for Lewis after that.

Vitali didn't fight Lewis for more than three years and he had 5 fights in that time. On top of this he was a substitute that night as well.

Byrd wouldn’t have been an attractive fight until he’d beaten Holyfield.

Do you think Byrd might’ve been locked into that easy shot at the vacant title during that year, or do you think Don King wanted to sacrifice him to Vitali in Germany?

Vitali wanted no parts of Byrd so there would be no sacrifice.
