prime Corrie Sanders vs 2017 Wladimir Klitschko

Sanders beat Wlad so badly that it's hard to see Wlad winning. But Sanders wasn't all that. He lost to Rahman, who honestly seemed like a guy Sanders should beat on paper. Rahman weathered the storm and stopped him. Rahman was a good fighter, not saying otherwise. But I thought Corrie should have beaten him.

 

Sanders punches in the middle of Wlads defence from his southpaw stance everytime and is much faster than Wlad, he's all wrong for Wlad

 

Thing is… I do think prime Sanders is faster than Wlad 2017 and it’s not all that close. Now prime Wlad is a different story. Corrie does still have the hand speed advantage but not by as much as many think. Which is one reason I think 2007-2012 Wlad is a 50/50 fight against prime Corrie. Other reason is Wlad had a little faster feet imo.

But 2017 Wlad…. Nah. Prime Corrie is bad news for him. Even if Wlad came in like he did against Joshua. The Corrie That blasted out Al Cole gets that Wlad out of there in 3-4 rounds imo. Even with Wlad being as motivated as he was.

 

No. it's all about the twitch muscle.

 

Sanders could blow hot and cold, but when he was on his A-game, he was kryptonite for Wlad. If he fought a prime Wlad, I don't think he would blow him out of there in two rounds like he did in their actual fight, but I think he'd put Wlad down enough times to either win on points or by late stoppage. Wlad could jab and grab to a UD, but my money would always be on Corrie.

Corrie was an exceptional talent with incredible natural ability. Wlad had to really work on sharpening his skills, and to his credit, he did, and he was effective, but Sanders was dynamite, one of my favourites to watch. Few fighters in HW history were as explosive as he was in the first three rounds, and he could've easily fit into any HW era and been dangerous.

 

In this scenario, did 2017 Wlad lose to Sanders in 2003?

If so, I pick him to win, if not he loses in the same way.

 

Sanders is overrated by many in my opinion, his 3 best wins are over 2 gatekeepers Bert Cooper and Ross Purity and his upset of Wlad who's chin let him down when hit. heck Lamon Brewster ko'ed Wlad 2 fights after his loss to Sanders! Sanders losses? Ko'ed by Nate Tubbs, Rahman and Vitali . He has one other Ko loss but that was his last fight at 40. Don't get me wrong he wasn't bad and his power was a threat, but Wlad learned to control distance much better after those losses and if they'd fought again I think Wlad keeps him off this time, and I'm not a big Wlad fan but he had some abilities.

 

Sanders any year would beat him he was to good

 

Vitali was never close to being stopped in their fight.

 

Prime Sanders wins 7 of 10 Times ... too quick too unorthodox. Klitschko has only the Puncher chance here but old Klitschko (2017) might have a better chance to land with the big right hand as Klitschko of 2003. Stylewise Sanders and Fury were W. Klitschkos most difficult opponents

 

I doubt Corrie beats the 2017 version of Wlad. Wlad's team would be able to make the appropriate changes. I think there will always be some close calls because of Corrie's size and speed mixed in with Wlad's fluidity. If Corrie goes full kamikaze he's going to get countered.

 

How would an older fighter beat a fighter who already beat him while he was younger? Now I know there's some exceptions like Hopkins against Jones but cmon Sanders is just all wrong for Wlad
