Did Foreman cut water weight at weigh-ins?

70s Big George would typically weigh-in around the ~220 mark, and at 6'3", that actually made him not much bigger than an Ali or Usyk, but he looked significantly larger than either them in the ring. Big upper body and he didn't have chicken legs either.

Is it possible despite not having a weight cap, he shed water weight before getting on the scales and then rehydrated, which is why he looked so full in the ring?

Yeah that still has the trimmer and lighter is better mindset, fighter do usually have a best weight they did not know or think fighters attitude was more import than best weigh. The 260 Foreman had far superior stamina and matured strength because of his new found calmness and patience.

Is that new found calmness and patience or newfound corn chips and potatoes?

He’s around 215lbs-220lbs in his prime weighing in with combat boots and jeans for some weigh ins… he just wasn’t overly big and his opponents weren’t either, Muhammad Ali remarked about how they’re the same size and the press is exaggerating or something, in the build up to Zaire he said it. GF did dehydrate himself a bit apparently but it wouldn’t have been much or he wouldn’t be able to fight lol - Foreman certainly didn’t look significantly larger then Ali, Ali was demonstratively a physical match and looked it to, there wasn’t really anything between them.

The cheeseburger KING, his diet for fighting ... " I just eat what makes me feel good. And when I feel good, I fight good "

I can still see the look on the waiter's face at the Riviera Hotel when he took our order. While I tucked into clam chowder and a steak sandwich, Foreman washed down six cheeseburgers and a family-sized platter of fries with two strawberry milkshakes.

    LOL

When Ali claimed he and George were the same size, it was in reaction to the popular opinion that Foreman was that much bigger.

Ali claimed that Foreman was just 6’2 1/2” like Ali himself. Rubbish.

Foreman was about 6’3 1/2”, displaying a good 1” height advantage over Ali in their very square face off in Zaire.

By many accounts, Foreman did dry out but, post Zaire, in his last few fights, he was fighting in and around the 230 lb mark. Foreman was just 27/28 before his first retirement.

Comparing Foreman to a much older, expressly and incrementally bulked up Usyk doesn’t tell the whole story as to who is/was effectively bigger, stronger and more powerful (of punch).

Usyk himself, btw, is actually about 6’2”.

You’re calling it “rubbish” because Ali thought that they were the same size? I don’t think you can blame him given they pretty much were lol.

You’d argue with your little finger, wouldn’t you?

You should confine yourself to debates with your pinkie - that way, innocent third parties don’t become unnecessarily annoyed.

Read exactly what I described as being rubbish. Capiche?

No, they weren’t pretty much the same size.

20 yo Foreman shown below in his first pro fight weighing 219 lbs.

Due to draining, Foreman’s weight varied, hitting as high as 224 3/4 lbs prior to facing Ali.

Post Zaire and pre first retirement Foreman was easily carrying 226 lbs to 230 lbs.

Ali was proportional, Foreman had huge arms for his size/weight. Big shoulders too. Torso was no larger than Ali. Although side by side, Foreman absolutely was taller. If Ali was a legit 6'3", Foreman was a legit 6'4".

There was a short point during Foreman's comeback where he'd slimmed down to around 235 or so and had done enough work with weights to look lean-ish but fully proportional. He looked like a pro power lifter at that weight.

Face it, George was heritage sized heavyweight and couldn't bully the postmodern heavies. Thus, he found it necessary to add 40 pounds in order to compete during his comeback, and even then never fought a decent heavy much over 220.

As far as heavyweights go, we now live in the best of all possible worlds.

He weight 235 against Qawi and remarked never again—either his body would need a much longer time to adjust, or he couldn't go lower at that age. Clearly had no intention amassing lard to compete with anybody.

He would’ve weighed in even lower but he had a big head.
