Mayweathers greatest weight class in my opinion was jr.lightweight.
A fighter can achieve greatness at different weight classes but they will always have a weight class where they were at thier absolute best.

Well I'm trying to say is that Canelo doesn't have this devastating Julian Jackson type power that everybody runs to.
Cotto was never close to being stopped. Trout didn't get stopped. Mosley didn't get stopped.
And at middleweight Canelo didn't stop any fighters of note.
But Nunn did. He dropped Tate and stopped him. Iced Kalambay with one shot. Iced Parker with one shot.
Stopped the rugged Roldan. Destroyed Kronk prospect Knox.
So it comes to a surprise for me that at middleweight somehow in a weight class Canelo never displayed that much power that all the sudden Canelo turns into a power puncher.
At Super Middleweight maybe Canelo has a chance depending on which Nunn shows up because at that weight class Nunn could be very inconsistent.
But at middleweight Canelo has 0 chance vs Nunn.

I'm just happy I got to see truly elite boxers in a time when the best fought the best and didn't have to sit through watching someone like Canelo get all hyped up and manufacture greatness.
I know what a Hagler at middleweight would have done to Canelo at middleweight.
I know what a Ray Leonard would have done to Canelo at welterweight.
3 of the best fighters Canelo ever faced - GGG,Mayweather, and Bivol and all of them beat him and two of the three dominated Canelo.

Golovkin and Bivol would have sent Nunn home on a stretcher

Golovkin definitely has a punchers chance because he actually is a legitimate puncher.
Rather or not he could reach Nunn on a consistent basis to achieve it would be cause for debate as Nunn was incredibly fast and elusive.
But Golovkin definitely has the punch to do it.
Nunn was way past his best years at light heavy so that match up would be Bivo l would think but I don't think he stops Nunn.
Michael Nunn was stopped ONE TIME in over 60 fights so I have no idea where people get this thing where Nunn had a weak chin.

We have done Golovkin vs Nunn before. I have the same opinion. Nunn doesn't have the stamina or the chin, in my opinion, to deal with the likes of Golovkin. Against Canelo you can at least make an argument that Nunn could use his speed and length and outwork Canelo from the outside. Against Golovkin he is SOL since Gennady was a master at cutting the ring and had a higher workrate than Canelo, and, for that matter, Nunn himself.

This is all ridiculous.Actually, Nunn has a very good chin.Only stopped once in 60 fights spanning 3 weight classes from 160-175. When was he even down other than the Toney fight?

He made two simple posts, asking two simple questions.

You tried to deflect, and now you’re just going to answer him at all?

    Embarrassing.

    More deflection.

How embarrassing that the two of you can’t answer a few simple points.

Yet we can’t be sure, simply because GGG has never seen a Micheal Nunn in his entire life.

Nunn for me , UD probably or late stoppage

Feel sorry for Nunn and what happened to him, being set up. I am against drugs but feel he got screwed, and did not deserve the sentence he got

    Wait, here's the answer:

    This content is protected

    Do you even understand English?

His dumbass post is irrelevant because it's not the 'gotcha' that he thinks it is. It's just stupid.

It's like me demanding to know how many people Nunn beat at Canelo's favourite catchweight of 155.

    Nobody?

    AH - HAAAA!

    That looks really bad

Canelo had only a handful of fights at 160 and half of those were against a guy that beats Nunn anyway.

The real questions are whether Canelo would go life and death with Barkley and Starling, like Nunn did. Answer: no he would not. Nor would he blow his ass out trying to beat Cordoba and he sure as chyte would not lose to Lyles and Little. Fact is Nunn was a flash in the pan, unlike guys like Canelo who stick around for decades and build a legacy for themselves.

B-bu-bu-but Nunn could beat Canelo between 12 and 1 o' clock on the 5th of February ...

When you have to resort to dumb arguments like that, it's clear that a cherry picked and idealized version of a fighter is being built up together with copious amounts of smoke effects, flashing mirrors and rose-tinted glasses. Fact is that compared to Canelo, Nunn is nowhere, and when we compare resumes the same applies.

    It’s a simple debate.

You are free to ask any questions that you wish to be answered.

Likewise, the other posters are also free to ask you questions which they would like answered.

    A very simple process.

Yet all you could offer was sarcasm and deflection.

    Very poor on your part.
