The right hand that was the beginning of the end for him wasn’t a flush shot, and something you would see someone with decent punch resistance able to take. His left leg was in convulsions after it landed.

Glass chin... Always the same. First hyping someone up and then dropping him like a hot potatoe. As others mentioned he mostly has bad defense and instincts. But he has at least an average chin.

Taking those shots and many of them without seeing them is a hard task. Allen put a lot of craft into his shots and was willing to lose every round in order to build up the knockout. And whenever he hurt fisher, Allen was really clinical about his approach - like the best knockouters are.

Add to the fact that Fishers experience is limited and way less than Allen's.

Yes Fisher was a hypejob, yes I was disgusted with the result of the previous fight but generally he seems like a nice guy and he is pretty good for the limited experience he has and he does NOT have a glass chin. Also he has an eye-pleasing style. Don't hate on him or belittle him for having a glass chin when he doesn't. It's as annoying as the unjustified hyping beforehand.

For the level he is at, his chin is one of his stronger attributes. His problems are elsewhere

I don’t see Itauma as a hype job, Fisher clearly was and the people who were wanting him to fight Itauma should be charged for attempted murder. Allen is a tough man, but he can barely be arsed to train and is slow as molasses, Itauma would seriously damage him.

First time I’ve seen fisher fight an it was clear right from the beginning that he was another brit hypejob. What was damn funny was seeing him in the first couple of rounds holding out his left hand an waving it up an down like those fake wing chun masters on youtube when they are up against real fighters an trying to catch incoming punches by catching an parrying every shot with their outstretched hand instead of dodging or moving their heads. ha ha. Even if he did have a strong chin, relying on a laughable defensive move like that is just asking to be knocked out especially at heavyweight

I had somehow completely forgotten that Clarke has already beaten Dave!

I'll have to go rewatch and reassess...

he’s durable and can crack. Not too crazy to see how he’d develop a nice KO ratio against opponents at his level.

This is about the fairest post in this thread. The shot Allen KOed him with would have felled an elephant, and turned his head almost 180 degrees around. It's what happens when you're discombobulated and unable to prepare for incoming shots or have the survival instincts to operate in an impaired state like more experienced fighters do. Truly glass-jawed fighters like Price and Hide go down from nothing shots, not big clubbing haymakers and full-bodied hooks bang on the jaw.

Nah, Allen landed a series of vicious shots and not that weird slow-motion bolo punch that KO'd Webb.
Allen does have decent power when he whips his shots, like that bodyshot on Browne.
Allen was throwing harder than certain fights I've seen in him, definitely going for a KO.

So he landed an overhand RH, put Fisher in the corner, then an uppercut, then a huge hook to the temple that stumbled him, then a LH and a rabbit-ish RH as Fisher went down. Then the finish he landed a huge LH to the open face which whipped the head like a rubber chicken.

It's hardly as if Fisher got one-punched like Lennox Lewis or something.

Honestly, after seeing what happened in this fight, it is absolutely astonishing that anyone would deny that Fisher has a glass jaw. But there are always those who offer a litany of excuses for fighters like Fisher who CLEARLY can't take a punch.

I wonder what excuses they'll have the next time Fisher takes a canvas nap?

In all fairness to Allen, Clarke pretty much reduced Dave Allens nut sack to an infertile pulp plus, Allen did his more often than not, big fight prep which was no prep whatsoever.

I seriously hope this is Dave Allen 9.0 or whatever version he's on now and makes the best of what time he's got left as in spite of all the obvious faults and frailties, he's about as decent and as likeable a guy as you're ever gonna see and given how he has been so often fed to the wolves so to speak, he deserves all the success and more coming to him.
