At first glance I didnt see why you would rate Crawford resume higher, so I quoted you to list cottos best wins and to ask you what Crawford wins you rate over them... decided to brush up by looking at Cottos resume and have to say Ive been overrating his career quite a bit.

Both of their resumes are definitely sub-ATG. Cotto has a deeper resume (and arguably the best single win as I rate 2007 Mosley over a 2023 Spence), but Crawford was more dominant and emphatic against his opposition. And not to knock Cotto, who was very, very solid, but Crawford is clearly the better talent in my opinion.

Crawford rates higher and would stop Cotto at 147 at their peaks.

Cotto is known for his big fights, but actually when you look at who he's beaten you're kinda left with old versions of Judah, Mosley, Mayorga and Clottey.

Martinez and Geale are very good wins but both aged very badly.

To be totally honest I think the Mosley fight was a draw anyway.

Think Crawford probably the better package in terms of talent but Cotto fought in a better era against all time greats. Cotto could probably beat every fighter that Crawford has but unlikely TC could beat everyone Miguel fought.

Good original post. Makes a change for some of the nonsense match ups lately.

Idk..... Cotto is a level above the "version" of fighters Crawford fought and I don't see Cottp struggling against Kava, Gamboa, or Madrimov.

he struggled no less against the likes of Corley, Torres, Clottey, & Trout.

no way a fighter who gets chased outta the ring by Baldomir is somehow better than the likes of Spence or even Porter.

    Crawford and by a lot

Crawfords talent is in a different stratosphere than Cottos

Resume wise Crawfords is better than Cotto as well

He dominated all of his opponents until Madrimov. Cotto wasnt even the best at his weight class for most of his career.

Yes Cotto faced better opposition but the 2 times he truly stepped up he lost.

Funny how people rag on Crawford for beating old versions of Spence and Porter but overlook Cottos best wins being against old versions of Mosley and Sergio Martinez.

Cotto at 140 won a vacant belt. Cotto at 147 won a vacant belt. Cotto at 154 beat Yuri Foreman.

Cotto was a very good fighter but Crawford definitley showed a lot more greatness.

Good chance he loses to Madrimov and a good chance he at least gets dropped by Kavliauskas

Cotto fought everybody. He would have beat the **** out of any version of Spence or Kell Brook. That said, TC is bigger with greater reach and probably more durable and probably nearly as skilled but his resume is lacking. H2H I take Crawford. Career 2 career, I take Cotto. TC still has time though...
