Actually looked it up after writing that post to find out he,d never been down in 75 fights. Not even a single flash knockdown. Madness. Probably still be fighting at 80
Some men are just like that. It's alway crazy to hear about a guy like that. I've read about a guy who survived WW2, a train wreck, two plane crashes, being struck by lightning, etc. And still lived to over 90. Dude was just unkillable. I always get a kick out of hearing the bad habits of some of these guys who live to 100+. Read an interview with some Brazilian farmer who was over 100. He said his secret to long life was .... smoking. He started smoking as a kid, helped him relax so he could live a long time. Read another with a US vet who was over 90. His secret was drinking whiskey every morning. Helped him start the day in a relaxed mood. Wild. Meanwhile I try to eat healthy and will probably keel over at 75. lol
Country Box is heavily promoting the fact that Shannon "The Cannon" Briggs will be sitting ringside for McCall's bout on their social media. Briggs will be appearing on a Country Box card on July 1st. Pretty obvious they're going to have Briggs "spontaneously" climb in the ring to interrupt McCall's victory interview and call him out for a match this summer/fall.
This is McCall's opponent for June third, btw: https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/204604 Six foot southpaw Reyes started his career 7-6-1 (already not great) and is on an 0-11-1 slump over the last decade...stopped in nine of those losses, a dozen overall, and in his last five straight.
I’ll watch. Feel like a former champ still fighting at 60 deserves a few minutes of my time. Hope you win, McCall. I’ll be rooting for you.
