Best version of each. Does Bruno bulldoze him or is Braddock too skilled.

Yeah guys, Braddock is not winning this one. His best win is Baer, a guy who was a physical specimen for his time but with little boxing skills. Bruno is a specimen but also has enough boxing nous to turn Braddock inside out.

So you think Bruno is better than Max Baer?

That is a yes from me. Only thing that Baer has on Bruno is his toughness. I think FB is stronger, harder hitting and technically much better. His jab alone would have caused Baer no end of problems.

We're fighting them to a draw fellow Braddock fans! If Braddock could beat John Henry Lewis we can win this poll!

How can you seriously believe that, when Bruno lost every time he stepped up in opposition, with the sole exception of the McCall fight?

However good Bruno looked on paper, the real world results show that he simply wasn't.

To be fair, Braddock and Baer may have lost had they contended with Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Tim Witherspoon.

His decision over 175 pound Lewis was a gift and highly unpopular by those who saw the fight. Jim is a legend based on his place in history but he was not beating Frank Bruno who was much much larger, stronger, hating hitting , no way

They may not have had to contend with Tyson or Lewis, but they had to contend with guys like Smith and pot smoking Witherspoon.

The road to the title is through those sort of men in any era.

Even if we accept that these men who beat Bruno were all that, the rest of his resume is a nothing burger.

You have to beat somebody to get to the tile in any era.

I will say basically what I said in the Braddock-Moorer thread, I pick Bruno, who I’ve never really thought much of, but on his absolute best night this is a winnable fight for Braddock, who takes a lot of s**t around here but at his absolute very best was a very good prize fighter with some pop.

Braddock lost to a lot of guys worse than Bruno. Did Bruno ever lose to a former light heavyweight with 24 losses on his record?

I don’t think Braddock had the power or the type of style to force a stoppage on Bruno the way that Tyson, Smith, Lewis or Witherspoon did. He might have outboxed Frank but Bruno had a pretty stellar jab, right cross and excellent conditioning. Not totally sure where I stand on this one

I think Bruno would have lost to Michael Spinks

Bruno brushes Braddock aside fairly quickly
