    What makes a man carry on for 300 fights when he only wins 32 of them? Did he make any money? Granted I see that a lot were 4 and 6 rounders, some of 2 minute rounds. Anyone ever meet him? These rare types of fighters fascinate me.

    you could start with reading his book "King of the Journeymen" that would give you a lot of answers.

    I have a vague recollection of reading an article of the top 10 earning British fighters of the previous year.

    9 were either world champions or had a "crossover", high profile. The other was Peter Buckley. Just on account of how many fights he had. He'd accept fights on literally mere hours worth of notice, on occasion arriving at the venue with little time to spare before his bout.

    The answer to your first 2 x questions are money and yes.

    He was outraged when the ref stopped his 2nd fight with Naseem Hamed...
