This means if DUBOIS pulled out due to the not healed injury, Wilder would be named the mandatory. But Dubois didn't pull out and the fight was made cause he was the mandatory. You said:

    Completely different thing, LOL.

It is more and more clear usyk does not plan to waste his time with bums like parker and kabayel but he is brave enough to touch glooves with nobody less than jake paul !

Usyk never ducks , he fights everybody everywhere ;-)

That's quite bad news. Parker seemed to thrive when fighting regularly. Losing that now can only hurt him. And we have to wait for him to fight because of usyk dubois which was quite one-sided last time...

Looking at usyk I think he is as much better than parker as he is better than dubois. And the same probably goes for kabayel, though it is harder to estimate as he seems to be a wildcard and that would probably make it the most interesting fight of the three.

But now we are in a situation where first dubois can be expected to lose a one sided fight against usyk. Then parker fights usyk with a long break before and kabayel is out of the picture by default for some reason and is left to fight the scraps / give other fighters the option to gain his place before getting his title shot.

So as always boxing fans have a stupid situation ahead of them again.

But I would not say usyk ducked anyone. Whoever he fights, there will be complaints about him ducking the others. He is way above any opponent right now and only loses if he has gotten old. A shirt while ago we weren't even talking about dubois parker and kabayel. Only usyk's age gives them a small chance

This is going to be an MMA fight, and there is nothing wrong with him trying out his considerable grappling skills, or starting at the bottom of a new sport. This is just an unfair criticism.

That being said, I would rather he stayed in boxing and took on Parker, but then abandons the belts to have some fun fights against guys like Beterbiev and Wilder instead of pushing on as champ into his 40s.

If he wants to pursue exhibition fights then go for it, but don't hold up the rest of the division.

Usyk has earned some leeway regarding which opponents he'd like to face, and I'm a big a fan of Usyks than anyone, but at some point you have to acknowledge he's taking the mick.

Yes, his intention as I understand it is to retire from boxing and do some MMA.

Usyk has cleared out two divisions, and has proved anything there is to prove. If he wants to beat up a youtuber in order to pad out his retirement fund then all the power to him.

It's going to be an MMA fight. He wants to try his hand at MMA, which makes sense, because he has been practicing various forms of grappling since before he was boxing.

Boxing, MMA, bare knuckle in the local carpark, whatever the ruleset Usyk will dominate, just hope he gets paid handsomely in the process.

Personally I'll wait for the ink to be dry on the contract before I judge Usyk for fighting Paul next, and judge him I will if that's the next fight he signs. But I wouldn't put money on that fight being next, this is boxing after all

Good post, and 100% correct, but these guys make it worse on themselves by not fighting each other, instead waiting around for the big money. Why has Dychko and Jalalov not fought? Could that not be made? There are like 40-50 Russians active that could be fighting each other in IBA.

Same thing, by the way, with the Americans.

I assume it makes economic sense. For both dychko and jalolov a loss significantly harms their chance of getting that money fight and the fight dychko vs jalolov won't be very lucrative for either.
That to me seems to be the systemic problem that makes english speaking fighters come out on top of the boxing system.
Young dubois vs joyce worked, because while similarly experienced, there was much more money in the fight and even the loss earned him name recognition among relevant viewers.
Dychko jalolov is for the hard core of boxing fans, noone else will notice

By that assumption the real Problem boxing has is the crazy difference between how much money smaller and how much bigger fights generate.

It is millions vs tens of thousands. So it makes sense to wait. If you preserve your chance to get your 1-2 million fight, you can miss out on 20 50000 dollar fights. Even a few 200000 dollar fights, if they pose danger to you. Noone wants to make those make or break fights.

With the americans the interest has gone down, so maybe similar things apply. Though it also seems like they are not seeing the chance to break into the mainstream enough.

It is only lucrative for instagram fighters and english speaking ones with a substantial viewership, so they can already earn hundreds of thousands early in their career.

That is what i assume anyways
