Hard to say when Bhop's prime was, though. Could be wrong, but I believe he debuted when he was 28. Maybe he was prime when he beat Glen Johnson?

Hopkins edges it in a close fight in my opinion. His movement, defensive skills and ability to control the pace of the fight will be the difference, stylistically I just think he poses more problems for Hagler than Hagler does for Hopkins.

Hagler was a tremendous fighter but Hopkins struggled with guys who could beat him to the punch and then be gone before he could counter. That isn't Hagler. Hagler would make it a very close fight, he can cut the distance effectively and his ability to switch stances will give Hopkins problems. But Hopkins movement, his counter punching, his ring IQ would see him win a very close fight.

I will go with hagler! He loved to chop down the tall ones. There might be a trilogy with these two though.

It's Hopkins, he wasn't that different of a fighter at 40's from his 30's, anyway is just a baseline, Hagler is miles already of theses welterweights, Hopkins don't have the motor to keep up with Hagler, Hagler can't be huged to oblivion, that is what i believe, i could be wrong, for sure.

Come on Rummy....commit.. gun to head if you're wrong, BANG. But, if you guess correctly, ypu unlock the space time continuim were you can place fighters in from diffrent eras against eachother. I strive BHop the edge due to his size and craftiness.

Correct and different weigh in rules if I am not mistaken. The size advantage might be enough for Hopkins to scrape home the win. That said I like Hagler more myself ... he's got a speed edge and I think he an all-round better boxer. If their sizes were equal I'd pick MMH no question.

Yeah, it's the kind of thing people don't think about because it's not fun. Are they weighing in under Hopkins rules, in which case we are getting a bigger Hagler, or Hagler's rules, in which case we get a heavily weight-stripped Hopkins. Or are they allowed to weigh in under their own respective rules, which would be really unfair on Marvin.

Correct. I mean if we assume they are magically the same size then Hagler is really fast for a MW the size of Hopkins.

We can be certain that Hopkins will fight dirty and almost certain there won't be a knock out. Taking it dirty into the trenches won't help against Hagler, who would win.
