Thanks, hoop Loma would've embarrassed him. Mikey wouldn't win a round but if he was lucky he might lose 12 of them
Josh Taylor truned pro late. Youre basiclally giving him more credit for being an amateur for longer.
I agree with you that Lomachenko wouldve won but people said this same kind of over the top talk about Lomachenko vs Lopez before they fought
This thread makes me realize how elite and underrated Teofimo Lopez is on this forum Beat Lomachenko and Taylor Beat Barbosa easily the guy who beat Catterall who beat Taylor twice Knocked out Commey No Martin and Ortiz didnt beat Lopez so dont try that Teofimo Lopez is a legit pound for pound fighter
Taylor gets praised more for becoming undisputed at 140 because he beat the better opposition to become so and he did it in 18 fights and he travelled over to the US to JCR's backyard with a home ref and 3 home judges to complete the task Crawford did it in 32 fights, all in his home country, and Postol and Indongo brought their belts to him with 6 of the 8 officials coming from the US and none from either Postol's or Indongo's countries
No I'm giving him more credit for achieving something in far less fights whilst being on a much steeper learning curve.
Taylor went life and death with Regis Prograis Had Crawford knocked out Prograis (which he probably wouldve) people would add Regis Prograis to the list of "another bum Crawford beat" same with Ekow Essuman. Same with Catterall haha.
Its easier to do this when you start your career at a later age Lomachenko has this fallacy. Yes its impressive that it took him only 3 fights to be a World Champion but in reality he was 26 years old Its actually a very overrated feat that was used for Top Rank marketing very well
I`m sorry but comparing Taylor to Crawford is insane, Bud`s performance against a huge welter like Spence trumps anything Taylor has done in boxing, levels.
Even there runs at 140 arent really comparable when you really break it down. Crawford is scraping by Regis Prograis
Teofimo is far more athletically gifted, talented and quicker than Meat and Potatoes Mikey and I was very concerned about that match up for Loma because I knew how talented and dangerous he was, how much bigger he was than Loma what with Teo being massive for the weight, 135 being his 1st weight class after turning pro at 19 and it being Loma's 3rd turning pro at almost 26 and it would be like at least Loma's 6th one had he turned pro at the same age as Teo. And due to Loma being inactive. I said for ages that Loma should've just grabbed a belt at 135 and moved back down to 130 because he's tiny for the weight class and many of those 135 pounders are massive for it
Ya I agree that Lopez is more talented than Garcia but I do think Lomachenko vs Mikey Garcia would be a tougher fight than you are alluding to It would be the best win of Lomacehnkos career
It's not overrated at all. Firstly, as people keep telling us, pro and amateur boxing are different sports and most of these multi-weight champs who turn pro young are huge or gigantic for their 1st, 2nd or even 3rd weight class and they are becoming multi-weight champs beating opponents they're way, much or bigger than and even in their 3rd or 4th weight class they're beating opponents roughly their size Haney is a 2 weight world champion and he still hasn't beaten anyone close to his size. They're doing 2 different things
Taylor was 15-0 when he fought a 24-0 Rougarou and the later is a big puncher who knocked out Indongo in 2 rounds. If Crawford went to war with Rougarou I can easily see him taking a trip to the canvas
