Loma is all wrong for Meat and Potaoes Mikey. Loma has seen countless good technicians in his life, Mikey has never seen anything like Loma. Not sure about that but it would've definitely been a win. If Teofimo didn't duck the rematch against Loma he would've got dealt with too
I'm talking about their undisputed runs at 140 Spence and Crawford are the same size and Spence, as I have proven unequivocally in this very thread, is a PBC hype job
Spence started out his career at 54 Then went down and fought at 47 Hes huge for the weight Hes very Josh Taylorish in that way
Crawford turned pro at 140 and technically he only made 135 six times IIRC He was weighing a very lean 177 over seven years ago This content is protected He was rehydrating as much as 18lbs at 135, 17lbs at 140, easily the same at 147, and he weighed 0.2 ounces under 170 for his 154 debut so basically rehydrating 16lbs for his debut in his 4th weight class The highest recorded fight night weight of Spence albeit there are only 1 or 2 is 162lbs and that was a catchweight bout of 150. Crawford was coming in as high as 157 at 140 and he was very noticeably bigger at 147. They both looked drained on the scales for their fight and would've weighed roughly the same as each other Taylor weighed 149 vs Alfonso Olvera despite coming in at 142 and the SKY commentary team said that Rougarou weighed considerably more than him when they did a fight night weigh in. I think Taylor got bigger after leaving Shane McGuigan and working with a new S&C team
I do agree that Spence was a hype job but he was still a big welter and Taylor was bigger than every fighter he beat at 140 was my point.
The reality is that Taylor is underrated considering the gauntlet he has run since turning pro. It's a very casual way to look at it calling him overrated now that he is well and truly on the slide. Unifying a whole division in 18 fights is very impressive.
Was never a p4p talent, and this is a great example of why having a bunch of belts does not prove you are exceptional. He is not the first either. He was solid and had a decent run but never exceptional, even in his prime. As or Spence, he was always nothing more than a 7/10 fighter to me. Hugely overrated for obvious reasons.
