You can't compare amateur because Wardley was never an amateur.... How exactly is Huni's professional career "considerably" better than Wardley's?
Really looking forward to this one. This is a crossroads fights for both, with a lot the gain but at the same time they are at the age and stage of their careers either can certainly bounce back from a loss and learn from it. I've made no secret of the fact I'm a fan of Fabs. In ancient times he would have been in the fighting pits, he was born to do this and the fact he is still a relative novice who is world ranked just reinforces this to me. A lot of people say when an inexperienced fighter does unexpectedly well "what if he as started earlier?" But I actually think he as used that inexperience to his advantage. Not bound to the rigid technique years of schooling would have drilled into him, his awkward and almost untrained delivery has actually made him more dangerous. Huni is on the other end of the spectrum. He was born to do this aswell but it remains to be seen if he can make it in the blood thirsty world of the professionals. A former teenage prodigy with the amatuer pedigree and 100's of rounds of real competition in the ring experience to hone his craft. I'm a little concerned that Huni comes into this fight on the back of 3 "settler" fights. After a tough start to his career where he fought a range of different fighters and battled with injury I think they wanted to build up his title run with a couple of less capable fighters he could look good stopping..I would have preferred he step up to a fringe contender before challenging a fellow high ranking fighter. I'm less worried about the late notice, as he is always training and maintains a steady weight. So it feels like he had sufficient times to sharpen up and focus on sparring. It really could go either way and I think Wardley should start slight but clear favourite. But I think Justis can do this and he will showcase his ability to the world. What will win it for him is consistency. His jab will be like Glenn McGrath at Lord's 1997 Ashes. Pumping it out just outside of off stump all day but he nips one off the seam (a right hand) to smash it into the middle stump (Fabio's face). I think he has to stick to what's worked for him in the past..which is looking to score with punches and have a steady workrate to bank rounds rather than tire himself out with loaded up hooks that actually do less damage than if he was just to let his punches go naturally and fluidly in combos. Being to fixated on a stoppage will put him right in Fab's wheelhouse.
Good fight between two upcoming prospects which could see the winner propelled to the next level. These type of fights should happen more often. I'm more impressed by Huni's skillset, he's flashier and more entertaining to watch but Wardley has been underestimated before and he's been in against slightly better opposition in my opinion, so right now is slightly more proven. This is s step up in class for Huni and I don't think he's faced anyone yet who has Wardley's style. He's looked good against guys who have stood right in front of him and allowed him to display his skills but Wardley will be dangerous with his style which will look to keep Huni at a distance where I don't think Huni is as impressive. I see Huni doing well early with his speed but I think Wardley will catch him coming in. Huni's defence needs work and he can be hurt and we know Wardley can bang. Wardley by stoppage.
Are you a moron? Huni has beaten better opponents than Wardley. That’s a fact. And that is the only claim I made. You asked the question. I answered it. Now shut the hell up and let the adults talk. Child.
I've got Wardley by stoppage. I admit I don't know a huge amount about Huni, and have only really watched his fight against Lerena which didn't paint him in the best light for a guy with Wardley's attributes.
Okay lets talk like adults, because you're hiding behind your keyboard right now acting like a tough guy, so lets talk like adults. You're the real moron here, you got triggered like a prebucent child when I challenged your claim. Which is what it was, a claim not a fact. Now you shut the hell up, child, and go suck some Huni and Lerena dick. Like I said put all your money on Huni if everything you stated is "fact". And when you want to talk like an adult and stop being a keyboard warrior come let me know.
You asked a question. I gave you an answer that was fact based. And then you threw your toys out of the cot. Like a crybaby. So it’s onto ignore you go because my time is too precious to waste on simple idiots like you. Adios child.
Wardley is a another level in power, stamina resistance and defense. The only thing where Huni is better it's on the jab and the footwork. I think Wardley will win by TKO 6-7 and it's not impossible that Wardley will finished him some rounds before 3,4,5.
I'm a bit concerned that people are placing such weight on the second Clarke fight and overlooking the first one. Wardley was, at times, outboxed and overwhelmed in that super close fight and Clarke, who I really like, is not a world beater. It's one of those what ifs but how would the second fight have gone had Fabio not landed that brutal combination. I think this fight is reliant on Huni's chin more than anything. If it stands up I suspect he might win a relatively comfortable points decision...but, as others have said, only if he has the power to keep Wardley honest over twelve. If he allows Fabio to walk him down into his short game, he will struggle. I'm gonna tentatively go against the local man and suggest Huni wins on points
@The Cryptkeeper Lmao wants talk like an adult but is the real crybaby child. Puts on ignore once his precious "facts" are challenged.
