Starts at 6.40 with Corey Scott , plenty of other prospects and the seasoned Zelfa Barrett on this 10 fight card . Production will also be Top Class courtesy of 11:11 management
One thing you really need to get better at is adjusting the sound. It has often been so bad that I have given up watching a VIP Show. Good luck with the card and the production !
@STEVE WOOD no offence but all your shows are always full of mismatches. It's just always your prospects versus journeymen with losing records. It's offputting.
That's how prospects start out. Steve has title fights on too for kids that are ready...it's the game!
yeah but Wood seems to do it more than other UK promoters. Often the entire card if prospects vs fighters with losing records. Too much padding. I'm not saying throw them in the deep end early, but you know gradually step them up. Someone like Jake Abrol who's 12-0-1 should be facing fighters with winning records by now. Look at this Zelfa Barrett card, of the 10 fights, 8 of the opponents have losing records and the only 2 that don't . is a 19-10-2 record in the main event, and a 4-1.
I agree and don't understand why anyone would criticize VIP's matchmaking when you consider the very limited budget.
Simply the business of small hall boxing for fighters starting out is you have to sell enough tickets to pay for your opponents purse. I think people don't have a clue about the modern small hall promoter, break even they are doing well often run at a loss, there is no big money to be made.
Budget is the issue , without TV or sponsorship the majority of these shows lose money . We offer fair money to fighters with winning records for our fighters but they will not take it , reason is they get a lot more pay on TV shows . On flip side it is also not right to expect the early prospects to have wars for the money they are earning , it is tough at this level for all boxers , trainers and Promoters .We do our best , if we get a TV deal all would improve
You / Vip Boxing are doing a great job and you give the chance to boxers who would not otherwise have the opportunity.
