I might lean Smokin Joe, but this one will be savage

I used to favour smokin Joe in this one but I’ve grown to think Dempsey takes it more likely than not due to how explosive he is early on alongside his accuracy and power. Good chance Frazier isn’t there long enough to get into the fight.

'Don't hook with a hooker'. They'd both be throwing left hooks and Frazier's was just better, heavier and Dempsey would be walking onto something. It would certainly be a fun fight when it laster though. I could see both fighters hitting the canvas

For what it's worth Joe Frazier himself said he thought boxing had moved on and progressed from Joe Louis's era, nevermind Dempsey's.

    Joe.

Jack didn't do well against black fighters for the brief time he chose to face them.

That is a weird argument... If a black fighter only lost to whites should I pick white guys based on that fact?

Weird arguments are my specialty. Frazier didn't avoid opponents because of skin color. He fought black, white, even a heavyweight Mexican.

Ramos was game as they come against Frazier and seriously shook Joe with a right uppercut in round 1 (see below, 1:45). Manuel had some notable success coming up from underneath on Joe but ultimately, Frazier was simply too much…..

It would be a slugfest similar to Foreman-Lyle in 1976. Joe wins a brutal battle of attrition with a TKO in 7-8 rounds.

Honestly fellas… the disrespect for Dempsey here is outrageous Frazier fell short of Dempsey’s skill IMO we also have plenty of proof that he had enough power to get rid of Frazier no worries at all and with those old school rules? Forget about it, Dempsey is better than Bonavena once he’d dropped him he’d mug “Smoke” in the corner every time he tried to stand up.
