Lots of talk about that guy who is good but no Alexander Povetkin. I figured we’d match him with a similar Sanders / Douglas type contender who pulled off the big upset. Who wins?
He's not a puncher, Norton would box and outthink Ruiz at all ranges, this is a lighter punching sloppy version of Tua
Please provide the raws that Ruiz is a big puncher. He couldn't even stop the fossil remains of Liakhovic, couldn't put a dent in Parker who got dropped by Whyte, KO'd by Joyce, dropped by Chisora and Zhang, went life and death with a shot inactive Chris Arreola and couldn't get a single knockdown. He got dropped too Norton dominates Ruiz, there is no deep thinking needed here
I don't see any similarity between Ruiz and Tua either. Ruiz is/was extremely quick and he didn't just arm punch, he threw hard punches in combinations, more like a young Mike Tyson. Tua was a powerful puncher but was not known as a quick handed combination puncher.
Is Scott LeDoux really so much better than Andy Ruiz in people’s eyes? Yes LeDoux was in 79 but Norton looked fine, Norton just a year prior was fighting Holmes and in many people’s eyes took him to the edge (not me) I’ll say he was diminished but I find it funny Garcia doesn’t count, Shavers doesn’t count, LeDoux doesn’t count Foreman was JUST a bad style match up and it couldn’t be repeated by anybody else lol.
I forgot about that kd and just watched it. It was a balance shot and he was fine. Ruiz also fought the better version of Parker.
