So..,it seems like the Thailand's greatest champs were fighting in flyweight,like..all of them, and now I will pit them in a fantasy tournament to see.. who's the one and only Thai GOAT? First matchup would be 15 rounds, second will be 12. First off, let's start with the bangers. ON THE TAIL... A lanky puncher with dangerous pressure and relentless amounts of endurance plus stamina, coming back from all of his early losses with a lengthy reign by defeating Salvatore Burruni, then proceeding to win it 2 more different times and giving Masao Ohba the last war ever In Ohba's entire career.. The Thai Marciano, Chartchai... Chionoi!!! ON THE HEAD... One of,or perhaps the largest flyweight ever who grew out to be a bantamweight, with a drilling power in his punches that made Venezuelan great Betulio Gonzalez falter and Mexican champion Rafael Herrera shiver.. Venice... Borkhorsor!!! And now..to the smart ones. ON THE TAIL... Performing good against Korean great Jung Koo Chang in his early career, then proceeding to beat Mexican banger Gabriel Bernal, this starting out his great run where he even won back his title for the second time, despite his weight struggles... Sot... Chitalada!!! ON THE HEAD... Thailand's first world champion, beating the greatest names among boxing's lighter weight such as Pascual Perez and Fighting Harada,a man who can adapt to any opponents for every rematch they had with him... Pone... Kingpetch!!! Winner of the two matchups will face each other in a 15 rounder. @George Crowcroft @Flo_Raiden @scartissue @Macedoine62 @Mastrangelo @Dynamicpuncher @Saintpat Now put your predictions, and read the announcements like Michael Buffer.
In the mid-1960s, Chartchai Chionoi was the first fighter I really liked who wasn't American. Shortly after that came Ruben Olivares, Ismael Laguna and a few others. As tough as it is to overcome my childhood bias I have to go with Pone Kingpetch as the best of this group. He has the best wins and some high quality losses
I like MMA, but Bruce Buffer is a fat cry from a prime Michael. The winner imo, is Borkhorsor. He stops Pone and Chartchai imo. He meets Chitalada in the final and physically is too much for him imo. I think Chitalada beats Choinoi and Pone, but loses to Venice. Between Pone and Chartchai, it's really anyone's fight. What likely happens is Choinoi wins the first fight big and Pone squeaks out a decision in the rematch.
