I have said this often but for me the Foreman who fought Evander beats any version of his younger self. Comfortably.

Huh didn’t you see how an out character Frazier with a little movement troubled the guy?

I read this and I keep thinking to myself how Toney would… but seriously, I’ll response to this properly later, this is a thoughtful post and doesn’t deserve something whipped up pre coffee - mid dog walk I hope you’re having a nice afternoon? Morning? Whichever wherever you are comrade.

I see it as he kept his cool , did not throw senseless punches in wild fashion, paced himself, threw terrific , measured, insanely hard punches and to me look like a far more polished fighter than before or after ...

Was rewatching Abuelo Ortiz and kept thinking Floyd would... Treating myself to some Toney-Jirov masterpiece now.

Only in comparision to the first fight carnage. Joe landed a few counters but Foreman was in total control from bell to bell.

There's no such thing as a lucky punch. Every punch thrown has the intention to hurt the opponent and was crafted in the gym after thousands of hours of practice on the bag. The moorer KO punch in particular was pre-meditated murder, Foreman had been baiting him and getting him to relax and stand in front of him all night, then unleashed hell with all his strength the instant he knew he could land flush. It was a brilliant shot that took tons of patience, timing, and follow through to land, not just some random desperate haymaker.

Good point. But my question is still valid - did Foreman look better with Frazier or Moorer? He gave Michael almost all the rounds. He didn't give Frazier even 10 seconds. And Moorer was easier to knock out than Frazier. So which George was more impressive? The one who had to put Michael to sleep all evening or the one who ran into Frazier like a speeding truck

Oh no doubt he looked better during his peak in the 70's the man was a borderline unstoppable Juggernaut at the time and never looked as good after his first loss.
