Huni was definitely hurt but I’ve seen boxers hurt way worse and given a chance. It really seemed like that ref was trying to count to 10 as fast as possible and wanted Huni to not make the count. Huni obviously needs to improve his fight iq because this wasn’t a situation like Dave Allen vs Fisher where Allen hunted him down and ko’d him. This was Huni initiating and being sloppy and getting timed by a Wardley who didn’t have much in the tank and only chance was a big shot which Huni allowed and got countered.
I think Huni gets up at either 9 or 10 seconds (on the clock) but I couldn't hear the ref's count. Huni left it late but the ref might have sped up the count as he saw him getting up Do I think the ref would've given Fabio the chance to continue if the roles were reversed? Yes
First thing my sister said to me re it was she thought it was a short count. She's just someone who watches on live delay recording without knowing results or internet reporting.
Looks like the ref rush it a little bit at the end. But I'm sure Wardley would've finished him off anyway.
I think Huni is down for 9 or 10 seconds (on the clock) but it's really hard to hear the count given the noise of the fans in the packed stadium. But you can see from the ref's fingers he's counting fast
Huni was interviewed after the fight he made no complaints about the ending, ref certainly counted fast from 6 onwards but I think FW would of just dropped Huni again he was obviously buzzed and unsteady. Huni corner didn't seem to question it either, sign they knew he was gone.
Do people still not know how counts work? There is a timekeeper at ringside who counts as soon as the boxer is down, and the referee picks up the count from the timekeeper. Huni had no chance but to be beaten to a pulp and the referee saved him for another day. Excellent refereeing.
He's definitely counting fast. I thought it was strange in the moment when the camera panned to Warren and didn't focus on the action. But there were no complaints from Huni's camp.
The referee counted quickly but I think even with 2-3 seconds more, Wardley would have finished Huni off.
Hey idiot, my issue wasn’t the ref picking up the count from the timekeeper but it was the counts after that.
