2 years ago I'd say the Big Bang would have obliterated Wardley. But today, assuming the fight is in the UK, there's nothing Zhang could do to win.
I’d still favour Zhang, Wardley is too open, he’d have to take risk to get close, as he doesn’t have the reach to stay away, and when he does try to get close, his defence isn’t tight enough and he eats a short punch from Zhang in mid range.
I think Wardley is not iron chinned and very hittable. He's a lethal puncher but Zhang's biggest weakness is stamina not punch resistance. It's a hard one to call but I'll just tilt it to Zhang IF it's on neutral turf, not that I think it matters too much because I don't think it would see the final bell.
Big Bang has Big Stamina problems. If he can't knock you out within 4 rounds he's cooked. I would favor Wardley if they fought.
I favour Wardley mainly due to Zhang's age but if Zhang has anything left he could KO Wardley who doesn't have the best defense.
Zhang would catch Wardley a lot and with ease and he hits a lot harder than Huni. Wardley freezes for a few seconds after he gets caught. That’s more than enough time for Zhang to bang him!
Zhang would tee off on him like he did to Joe Joyce; if Wardley could survive the first half of the fight then he would take over on account of Zhang's anaemic gas tank, but I don't see that happening.
Wardley's defense is non-existent. Zhang annihilates him inside 2 rounds. Zhang still has fast counters and hits 10x harder than Huni and Clarke.
Zhang would crack Wardley with that sweet left hand. If only Zhang had turned pro a few years earlier.
Thought about this fight today and was curious to hear the public opinion on this one. Yeah, I think this one would end in similar fashion to Zhang V Joyce. Wardley can really crack but has pretty mediocre boxing ability and has poor defence and is rather hittable.
