Tyson had 26 amateur fights and won the pro heavy title in his 28th from 31 years old Berbick.
Marciano had 18 amateur fights and won the pro heavy title in his 41st fight from a 38 years old man ,having his last 2 fights.
WE ARE COMPARING HOW MANY AMATEUR AND PROFFESIONAL FIGHTS THESE MEN HAD A SUBJECT YOU BROUGHT UP NOT ME.NOW I'VE PROVEN THOSE I MENTIONED HAD COMPARABLE AMATEUR EXPERIENCEAND WON THE TITLE MUCH EARLIER WHICH BLOWS YOUR EXCUSE RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER.YOU DON'T LIKE IT.

Louis won 2 of the 7 completed rounds against Marciano.Three on one card.4-2,5-2, 4-3.
Respectable for a virtually one armed fighter who stated his last good fight, when he felt like his real self, was way back in1946 against Mauriello,he fought Marciano in1951 5 years later.
    Doug Jones was 27
    Joe Louis was 37
    Spot the difference?
You said Marciano had good defence.
Did an old Louis,Walcott ,or Moore have any trouble hitting him?
I'm holding nothing against Marciano,he was a great champ,I'm taking issue against all the BS I see posted about him.

LOL so boxing since you’re a teenager for a decade doesn’t count? Yeah okay, I’ve been debunked Big Mac seems like a fair assessment it wasn’t an advantage over Marciano at all, as you were chief. I also said Marciano’s defence was “solid” we agree he was hard to hit hard.

So according to @mcvey Tyson who started boxing at 13 and had a DECADE of time in boxing when he won the title with full time training from Cus, Atlas, Rooney etc is comparable to… Marciano who started at 23?padded his record etc and should’ve (according to Mac) been a lot further by the time he fought Louis with only 5 years in boxing? because they have similar fight numbers? LOL it’s been pointed out that you’re a lot like one of baseball stat guys it’s kinda true - cmon give him a fair shake Mackie.

It's not how old you were, it's the number of fights you had, amateur, or pro.
    No hard feelings.

What a cop out SIR - SO Tyson 10 years in boxing Marciano 5? Those are the same thing to you? :sisi1 It’s only double, I can figure that out at least. At least we agree Marciano was hard to hit with a clean shot, Ali like in his elasticity. No hard feelings but ya wrong Mac and I read / enjoy your stuff all the time including your Marciano rants you taught me HEAPS about boxing history since I was a freakin teen, ya forgot more about the sport then I know now but here is where you are incorrect, training in boxing longer then another guy is kinda important.

I have a very hard time understanding how somebody can say- with a straight face, I presume?- that a man that made his living in a combat sport, became world champion (when there was only one per weight), defended it multiple times, retired undefeated, and was, and is, acclaimed for inexhaustible stamina was non athletic. That makes zero sense.
What exactly defines "athleticism"? Should a world champion boxer take time and effort away from his profession to master the 110 meter hurdles to prove his "athleticism"? What does one have to do with the other?

Yep Grey that’s it, that’s the right of it. athleticism here means “twitchy” and explosive, fast hands and muscular usually so it disqualifies Marciano as a goofy looking, slope shouldered marathon, bull terrier type. I’ll say this… Who is more gifted? The guy who won the title with only 6 years of boxing experience (When did he get his real training with Goldman? 1-2 years in as a pro? I forget?) or a pro like Ali who won it after boxing from 12 years old (In the formative ages where you learn the quickest) and 11-12 years into his boxing education. Marciano should either be counted as a wunderkind or rightfully as a very hard working guy who fit a decades worth of boxing in 5 years. He actually has a reasonably similar career beginnings as George Foreman who is regarded as a super talent lol expect he kept his title and defended it more.

Interesting. I'm not sure what his path to victory would be in these fights. Jones is so much faster than Marciano how would he land effectively?

    “fighting 5 men175lbs or under,17 under 185lbs,26 under 190lbs”

you said he fought 48 times against people under 190

I debunked that with total ease, finding 23 people 190 and above, where you clearly stated he fought 48 times against people 190 and below.

That's a top post. Joe Frazier was incompetent, athletic wise, outside of boxing. Meanwhile, back at the boxing ranch, he had a win over the GOAT and brutalized loads of fighters who no doubt would have been far superior athletes outside of that ring. Ages back, while others unloaded on one of the greatest ever, you said when someone doesn't look that good, or words to that affect, you try and find what makes them so successful. It was bang on. It's a "what am i not seeing moment", when someone with a stupendous record doesn't appear to be all that. In this case we'd seen plenty of film of the guys he did actually beat. Guys like Marciano are obviously doing something right.
