Filip Hrgović vs David Adeleye set for August 16 in Riyadh

Not an obvious fight to make. Adeleye is an underdog, he can't outbox Hrgovic but he has a punchers chance.

 

Hrgovic by brutal KO. Adeleye is worse than Joyce.

 

Adeleye won't dare do his trash talk, gangster act with Hrgovic at the presser.

 

Anybody else think that this was a very odd fight to make?

 

Not huge on Hrgovic but he still has enough for guys like Adeleye.

Do I know if this fight is such a terrible waste of time? Filip recently turned 33. He still has 3-4 years of a high-level career. Forcing the pace of development by force won't help here, but rather planning it wisely.
Filip recently defeated a good opponent, which brought him back to the game, but some problems also showed up that it would be worth trying to work on before throwing him at the highest level.

Sanchez was supposed to be there. The question is why isn't he there?? Frank gave up?

Warren clearly has a craving for a confrontation between Hrgovic and Itauma. So Filip will need another camp and some information about Moses after the upcoming fights.

If Hrgovic wants to win something at this highest level, he has to be in better physical shape. He has to improve his dynamics, speed and work with his front hand. Footwork is also an element where he needs to be lightened. It is obvious that at this stage he won't make huge changes, but corrections are possible.

And there is no way to hurry. The line for the belts is long ahead of him. And health must be respected too. Filip, no matter how you look at it, has already faced two of the 3 hardest punchers in this category in quite difficult fights.

He may soon fight more punchers. There is nothing to complain about.

With David Adeleye he should win with good fashion. If he cant beat David before last bell and Moses dont shaw some weakness in Whyte fight I will choose other way on his place.

Hrgovic should put more weight into his punches to stop Adeleye, I'm not a fan of this fight but it's better than nothing...

 

Yes and no. This is his comeback to the Riyadh scene, and it will likely open up a big fight for him. Hrgovic has to shine here tho.
But Adeleye is the second weakest opponent Hrgovic has faced since 2022.
