Here's the interview i was on about.

I used to spar with at Joe Frazier’s gym and I said, ‘all right’. Val was Joe’s floor manager and he told me to start coming in around 12 noon and I could box the heavyweights and help them with speed. I sparred with Tex Cobb, Mike Cornisi, Joe Goldstein, Bonecrusher Smith. I started boxing those guys. One day I was boxing Tex, and I hit him and he threw a roundhouse kick at me. I jumped out of the ring. Tex said, ‘You hit me too hard’.”

Cooney's huge mistake was always looking for short cuts to the title ... at the time of the Jimmy Young fight and even through Norton , Cooney was a very good fighter ... he'd more than likely never have the chin to be great but he was very good at combination punching and had terrific speed too ... he had the huge inactivity going into the Holmes fight and after that he really stopped ... he got the Sponks fight and took it because the thinking was that Spinks was a blown ups light heavy that edged an old Holmes and could not hurt him and that Cooney might be able to blow him out ... years later he felt the same about Foreman being an easy mark .... Both times he was terribly wrong.

Spinks had the most awkward style I have ever seen.
At light heavy he could crack and at heavy he still had some pop but not nearly like light heavy.
Everyone time I watched him he reminded me of a crab that had lost a leg the way he moved around.

I would say on the level of Usyk's power in the heavyweight division, good power but not elite...

Not a big puncher at heavyweight, but enough to keep opponents honest.

This. Michael wasn’t going to overpower heavyweights but they had to respect his power enough. And his jab had real pop. So that allowed him to control fights at either weight. Without that jab, he doesn’t beat Holmes (I didn’t think he won the second fight but there wouldn’t have been a second fight without him being able to out-jab Holmes the first time).

He could keep an opponent honest. He could make them pay for mistakes. And he had both a high boxing IQ and a killer instinct when he saw an opportunity.

He carried his power to heavyweight much better, for instance, than Bob Foster, who was devastating at 175 but may as well have been pillow fighting with heavyweights.

He was good at throwing from angles. He might not have been the hardest puncher who Cooney fought, but he beat the crap out of him because Cooney couldn't deal with angles. And yes Cooney would never return to or exceed his form for the Spinks fight again.

Good of you to FINALLY admit it. It’s not like the rest of us didn’t know though.

Regardless, how does it feel finally getting it off your chest?

Nah man. That’s not witty. You’ve been following me around and we both know it. I don’t even know what your thing is with Lyle but I’m sure it makes sense in your head.

Foreman's estate would be in serious jeopardy if a handful in here started charging him for all those years of rent.

Noneck would be able to quit his lucrative six figure job as a doctor and be set for life.
