Azumah Nelson, then about ten years later Ike Quartey, maybe there was something in the water around this time. Ghana was truly blessed to have these two. Edit: Kotei too.

 

A good man and a great fighter much respect to Azumah Nelson.
As an Aussie it makes me proud that a fellow Sydney sider like Jeff Fenech was able to move up in weight after a 2 year lay off and dominate him.

The rematch was a good performance from Azumah although Fenech phoned it in due to disappointment from being robbed in the first fight you can’t fault Nelson he did his job but prime for prime Jeff was the better man IMO but that is not a knock on Azumah he is also an ATG.

 

I'd rate Fenech higher in the ATG rankings. Fenech did some crazy ****, IBF champion inside 7 fights which I'm pretty sure was the fastest ever at that point in time. 3 weight champion in a very short period of time, whipped a lot of good fighters. I still think Fenech got too cocky, in the sense that he thought he couldn't lose. He became way more reckless in the ring. That day in Vegas ****ed him for good unfortunately.

 

Decent fighter. The Fenech trilogy where Fenech went 2-1 against him was the highlight of his career
