You said a lot without saying much. Yeah okay he has timing but I could simply destroy your entire futile argument with RJJ has both speed AND timing. Timing kills speed, but speed and timing kills all. Your whole argument is revolved around Monzon's timing and with this argument alone I destroy your entire argument. You also bring up chin but Monzon has never faced anyone near the puncher Roy was. Monzon never fought anyone as fast as Roy and as good as Roy. RJJ KO in 5 rounds.

 

Oh definitely. RJJ at his beak is unbeatable. No one's heard of Bob Foster, Ezzard Charles is too outdated. Spinks and Patterson might have a chance at higher weight classes but they too are also outdated. RJJ over anyone is definitely a reasonable, very reasonable take at his peak. RJJ at his peak is the most unbeatable boxer of all time, close second is Floyd Mayweather Jr.

 

But still, the difference between the 1970's and the 90's is still a huge gap. He may not have in the 1870's, but 20 years skill gap is a lot of evolution. RJJ is definitely more advanced genetically and skillwise compared to Monzon.

 

Hopkins is not but stylisitcally Hopkins is a nightmare matchup for 99% of middleweights. The who is better and who is worse argument does not really apply because styles make fights, and Hopkins is a worse matchup for anyone compared to Monzon, and that includes Roy

 

I don't think Roy Jones is that immune, i saw his fight with jorge castro recently, and fook he could be TARVED in that fight easily if jorge castro wasn't so caveman bound, a strong chin and educated volume-pressure on the ropes would match him hard, other styles would probably not bother him much, but everything that led to his downfall, is in the castro fight way back, the whole blueprint.
Unless Tarver is considered a god or something. God chin and pressure can take you very far against roy i feel.

 

Monzon could not force roy to attack first, roy would be the the counter puncher the whole fight, only chance i give monzon is him getting very close, he has the strongest punch i ever see when glued to his foes (his right hand punch), i don't know how he generate so much power or get that kind of leverage for that kind of position, he has a good motor, but he would be tentative after 3-4 hard counters.
