There needs to be context of Mike almost dying from an ulcer flareup only a few months earlier. Also, Foreman was 13 years younger when he won his title again, Mike was 58 when he fought Jake.

In fairness, even a 58 year old Foreman would have only needed to land one decent shot on Paul and Paul would still be in a coma.

Tyson didn’t really try against Paul. The whole thing was a con job.

It was pretty damn good until the Lewis fight.

He was still the third best heavyweight of that era. Would have beaten the likes of Bowe, Mercer, Foreman, Morrison, Tua, Ibeabuchi in the 90s.

Douglas and Holyfield both outboxed him for multiple rounds, giving him long sustained punishment. That was the only way to beat him. I don't think those other fighters could do that.

What do you mean close to their age ? So a decade difference in age is close ? What ?

There's a world difference from being in your mid 40s compared to pushing 60 years old.

Tyson had also been inactive for over 20 years.

He also dropped his jab and focused more on raw power.

He looks very soft - carrying a lot of body fat. That knockout was terrific. What a wonderful punch from a talented boxer. If only he had dedicated his life to boxing he'd be a lot less rich.

Not even close in terms of brutality, power, or historical significance.

    Jake's KO was a 10 out of 10, Mike's was a 6 out of 10

Johnson was packing glass and was KO'd in 16 of his 8 losses

T-Wood was a 5 x champ who had only been stopped once

Jake dropped him on his face out cold before he hit the canvas sending an ocean of sweat spraying to the cheap seats. It was a spectacular one punch KO

Ah yes, the Lennox Lewis "punch you then put all my weight on your back until you fall down" move. It shouldn't have counted as a knockdown, although if Lewis had just hit him again instead of trying that dirty crap, it would have been a legit knockdown.

Exactly. Jake isn't even in optimum shape but he's still beating GOATs, legends, ATGs, former undisputed champs, world champs etc. and has the best sub 13 fight resume in history outside of Loma

You have to admit, regardless if you agree about Jake being the GOAT or not, that it was a spectacular KO, DP
