Let's not forget that Usyk would've stopped Belly, who FTR despite being dropped many times has A level powers of recovery and has never been stopped, had the ref not come to Belly's rescue

Chisora has only been knocked out twice, by the massive punching Haye and Whyte. The other two times he was stopped on mercy stoppages both times on his feet from start to finish

Dubois had only been stopped on an injury

AJ has been stopped twice, once by the murderous punching Dubois and the other by Fat Andy who weighed just under 250lbs and 270lbs respectively

And Usyk hurt him with a single shot and had him on the verge of being stopped at the final bell

Dave Allen has a concrete chin

Obviously all these guys were way or way way bigger than Usyk but he has hurt every HW he's fought despite being a boxer who isn't even trying to KO you

Not sure what I'd rate his power out of 10 but his power is underrated. Maybe a 7

Usyk hit Fury with a shot he didn't see coming. That's why Fury was hurt so badly. His knockout of Dubois was due to accumulation of shots and Dubois being exhausted. That doesn't mean he has great power, it just means he has the skills to exhaust people and land sneaky shots they don't expect.

Most fighters will get hurt when hit by shots they don't see coming. It hurts a lot more than shots you can brace for.

Many of the strong heavyweight fighters would knock Fury out right on the spot if they landed the same kind of shot that Usyk landed on him.

When it comes to pure punching power, Usyk is really not that high on the list.

AJ has only scored a couple of one punch KO`s, his power is inconsistent.

Riakporhe is a cruiserweight for starters and he’s not even close to being the best (or even biggest punching) cruiserweight out there. How is he on the top 20 heavyweights list?

Usyk, and Fury are not 8's out of 10. Neither is Hunter and Gassiev.

I think Gassiev is a 9. He just hasn’t looked too good lately. Definitely isn’t quite the same hitter as he was in his peak at cruiser. If Hrgovic is an 8 then Jared ****ing anderson annd Torrez Jr aren’t 9’s!! Lol :D

I’d also throw in Jalolov. That left hand is a 9 definitely. But everything else… Meh.

Makmudov has limited skills but his uppercut is pretty lethal.

    Teramoana hits quite hard too.

I left out people that never faced significant opponents, or enough of them.

Zhilei Zhang 9.5/10 (dropped or KO'd everyone last few years)
Anthony Joshua 9/10 (great guy too)
Daniel Dubois 8.5/10 (could not dent Joyce who Zhang wrecked, let's not go too far)
Tyson Fury 7/10 (this is perfect number for Fury, can't underestimate punches but not naturally a KO artist)
Dillian Whyte 7/10 (difficult to know, Povetkin was shot, Browne KO'd in sparring already, etc.)
Filip Hrgovic 7/10 (I don't really know, but he's big so I guess at least this)
Joseph Parker 6.25/10 (rarely hurts anyone)
Oleksander Usyk 6/10 (needs a lot of shots or a perfect shot)
Agit Kabayel 6/10 (not convinced on his power)
    Michael Hunter 6/10
Derek Chisora 6/10 (in his prime before big roids), 7/10 (after magical punching transformation)
Kubrat Pulev 5/10 (his lack of power is hard to explain, but he did KO Ustinov with one punch somehow.)

*Murat Gassiev 7/10 (unproven at HW really, based on sparring comments and maybe just an ahole that tries to KO people in spars)

Gasiev has zero notable KO wins at heavyweight, I think he's excellent and a problem for anyone, but he landed some great shots on Wallin, and if his power was a 10 he would've got him out of there. I wouldn't have Wardley at 10 either, considering the 12 round deathmatch he had with Frazer Clarke. Both hit hard, yes, but Dubois has stopped Hrgovic, Miller, and Joshua. If anyone on this list is a 10, then it's him.

The number of kos is not the best indicator for power. Surprise and exhaustion and precision factor in too much.

Usyk hurts people because they are exhausted, mentally and physically and he stays ever inventive with his punches and that's how he got fury in their first fight. It wasn't power but persistence with great technique.

Others like dave allen in the second fight against fisher just know how to finish a fight. Waiting and understanding how their hurt opponent moves and what he wants to do.

For wardley level of opponents comes into play, too.

It's too easy to just argue over ko ratios. One has to include more knowledge, look at how the fighter fights. I prefer the eye test plus level of opponent.

Pure power isn't worth a lot. Even wilder with all his flaws had great execution in his punches. Look at how precisely he hit luis ortiz in their second fight. Or the ko against szpilka. Waiting for the right moment with great timing, for many rounds. It's a skill, not brute force.

Yeah, I`ve read a number of posters on this forum that think cruisers have heavyweight power, a lot of forum users think Opetaia has heavyweight power and I disagree.
