Boxing in Ghana on the Amir Khan show.

I’m hoping I can get back to where I once was, and it all starts on the 13th of June,”

Was it all just for attention? Never trust a boxer when they say they've retired.

Don't think it will have been for attention, two stoppage losses for me means he probably genuinely had enough but a bit of time goes on and then they can regain a bit of the appetite. He'll win a low level comeback or two then get chucked in with a prospect

How many boxers "have had enough" for a few months, in which they'd be inactive anyway?

He had the worst footwork of any "top" British fighter. Some of the worst of any black fighter I've seen. Even Sam Peter had better footwork and faster feet. Barroso couldn't believe how easy it was to land his counter left.

Very bizarre, he seemed set on retirement and his reasons were sensible. He must need the money if he’s willing to trade brain cells for it.

I was in the gym with Ohara for a couple of weeks before he went out to Ghana, to be fair he was in great shape and looking very sharp.

Some of them talk a good game in regards to investment/business but the reality doesnt quite match up to their claims. Hence the comeback, needs the money.

It hardly takes a rocket scientist to invest in property but it doesn't surprise me that it's beyond the scope of some of these boxers (who, it has to be said, seem compelled to keep up appearances with depreciating assets like clothes, cars, and so on).

    Always found him very dislikeable.
It wont last long as a comeback.

Pretty much everyone did on the way up (if you can call it that), but then he won the hearts of fans when he started losing and showing 'vulnerabilities'. What's new? Britain loves a loser. I think people are a bit more bitter about winners and get the green eye. Not that that was the reason Davies was disliked; he was a ****.

Has anyone ever retired like Ohara, whose level was British - European range, and then came back and went on to win a world title / achieve more than they did first time round? i can't think of anyone of the top of my head, can anyone else?
