    Of course not.
It is more like a "Journeyman is on ketamine again" thread.

    This.
Louis was a master combo puncher, able to combine speed and variety of punches non-stop, not giving a moment of respite to his adversary.

I wonder if Ali ever fought somebody who had some resemblance to Louis in that sense.

When did Ali show he can fight off the ropes in any of those fights when he got battered by Frazier every time. Also funny how you don't bring up the Norton fights wonder why.....

I was going to point out that boxing matches aren't scored by the length of post-fight hospital stays. And they're not.

...But it's interesting to wonder what they'd be like if they were.

He gave the blueprint for doing so in Zaire.

Ali wasn't battered on the ropes in the 2nd and 3rd Frazier fights, both of which he won.

You think Zaire is a good demonstration of how to fight on the ropes with Joe Louis? - you think watching him get battered by Frazier is a good demonstration in the FOTC?

Joe Louis was the "perfect" puncher...and...he was a great finisher...Ali wouldn't made it out of that 11th round at the FOTC in 1971.

No, prime for prime Ali is too athletic. Louis never had a realistic chance in my honest opinion. The version of Ali i saw against Liston and Folley is a h2h nightmare imo
