It’s a great win forsure but it comes with a lot of asterisks. 1. Canelo is not even close to what he was against Saunders and Plant. IMO that was his real prime. He has regressed significantly. The old Canelo would have smashed Scull. Even though Scull did not engage and ran, old Nelo finds and neutralizes him. 2. Canelo is a small SMW. At best he’s a MW. Even guys like Jannibek look much bigger than Canelo. Crawford on the other hand is a massive WW.
There's no shame in being inferior to Janibek he beats everyone from 160-175 besides Beterbiev and Bivol including Canelo and Benavidez If Crawford beats him it has to be an all time great win here, Bud will be 38
That "Small" SprMW will likely weigh in at a minimum of 180 on fight night. TC is no spring chicken himself.
The casual who started this thread still has PTSD from seeing Bud treat Spence bum ass like a female dog.
For me it definitely depends on how they look. Old man Canelo not being able to keep up with Crawford and unable to cut off the ring will not impress me towards giving any p4p titles. But let's hope the fight is better than that. And I hope Crawford wins this. Canelo is so entitled. Btw I wonder when a new name will enter the p4p discussions. For a while now only crawford, usyk and inoue have had legitimate arguments to being the p4p number 1.
Bivol surely must be close, especially with another top win The first fight was close but for me bivol should be 2-0 vs beterbiev. Ok beterbiev is 40 and not prime, but top win nonetheless
It would be a good win but at the end of the day this is a circus fight that doesn't have much bearing on the landscape of boxing. It is Canelo avoiding any serious challenges at his own weight class and Crawford cashing his retirement check.
Give it up PBC nuthuger. Crawford is far greater and far superior to any of your heroes in the last decade however you slice it, whichever excuses you make for it.
