Best version of each. Usyk is not a mega puncher so doesn't pose a threat to Norton in that sense. However, Norton has never fought a top tier world level southpaw. I see this fight going to the cards.

Norton by UD and in a 15 round fight might stop him. Usyk is overrated in my opinion.

Usyk wins easily. Norton’s stance is all wrong against a southpaw especially one who can fight him either on front foot or back foot and Norton’s jab would be rendered useless. I see Usyk having his way until hes able to get a late stoppage

Usyk beats him up although it might go to the cards.

I don't see much chance of Norton winning, but what he does with his left hand is the variable.
If Norton spends his time looking to get his left foot outside Usyk's right foot and trying to land right hands, he will get stopped. Usyk is going to get that outside position whenever he wants it.
That is when Norton would need to use his jab- because, in that scenario, it will beat the southpaw left to the mark every time. If he uses his jab every time Usyk gets the outside foot position, it could prove disruptive and open opportunities for the hook and right hand. But, if he just covers when Usyk gets the foot position and throws a left, he has no chance of winning, I don't think.

Yeah, Norton wasn't exactly quick on his feet, and his right foot was always a step behind.

Wouldn't Usyk take away Norton’s left with his hand fighting? Especially since Norton has no experience fighting a southpaw

Norton was a very good puncher great stamina and had a poison style for boxer types.

I think Norton would run Usyk close.

A fighter who was knocked out by Cooney and Shavers can't beat Usyk, I understand the nostalgics missing the old days but we have to be realistic and say that Usyk is better, Usyk by UD maybe even by stoppage...

    Hard fight to pick,
Going with Kenny to win a decision.
Maybe heart over head. But Kenny for me

Firstly that was at the end of Norton's career.

Lastly what have massive KO punchers like Cooney or Shavers have in common with a boxer type like Usyk ? who has gone the distance in 8 out of his last 12 fights.

He was as old as Usyk is now, I'm not saying Norton was a bad fighter, he was a good fighter, but Usyk would still be too much for him...

While I think Usyk will win, I reckon Norton's unusual style and good defence will pose some problems for Usyk. Norton was a big hitter, so Usyk isn't going to simply be able to do what he wants.

Fighters age differently Norton had been in 12 and 15 round wars and had 50 professional fights.

You're also comparing some of the biggest punchers in the division ever like Shavers/Cooney which has 0 relevance to a boxer type like Usyk who has solid power at best certainly not a KO puncher by any means.

Usyk too much for him ? Debatable Norton excelled vs some of the best boxer types in Heavyweight history I think he matches up just fine vs Usyk. Norton has a good body attack which Usyk has shown some vulnerability to. He's also one of the best conditioned Heavyweights of all time and is one of the few Heavyweights who could keep up with Usyk's stamina late on in the fight.

To beat Usyk. You need a boxer with a Great Jab and movement, can brawl, punch and a great chin. 80s Larry Holmes would do it.
