Would Cotto at 154 had beaten Madrimov?

Cotto's 154 reign was actually pretty weak

 

Agreed dude lost to Austin Trout.

 

Cotto for me. Ive always been a Cotto fan and will rarely bet against him. He is very Under appreciated. He may not have been the PFP best but was always solid. Very few fighters that are better than a Prime Cotto IMO.

 

It's a tough one since Cotto's best days weren’t at 154. Ortiz Jr. has had the most success against Madrimov because he disregarded all the feints and started letting his hands go every chance he got, not sure if Cotto could replicate that. Crawford slightly outpointed him with a counter shot once in a while, but I doubt Cotto would be able to win like that either. The more I think about this clash of styles, the more I lean towards Madrimov, even though I'm a bigger fan of Cotto.

 

To be fair that was Cotto's last fight of his career and he was considerably past his best by that point.

I'm not that impressed by Madrimov he has an amateur style to me and I think a good version of Cotto could break him down to the body and get him to late on like Ortiz did.

 

Trout was a Southpaw and pretty underrated I felt Trout beat Charlo and Canelo.

I thought it was a very competitive fight in the first 8 rounds, Charlo was able to steal some rounds. Being the aggressor and tagging Trout with some hard right hands along the ropes. Trout landed some very eye catching straight left hands and had some nice body work, i also liked the counter punching from Trout.

After 8th round though Trout started to distance himself from Charlo, as Charlo's clean effective right hands he was landing earlier. Were no longer landing as Trout outboxed him in the middle ring, landing the more eye catching straight left hands and counter shots. The 12th round was close i thought Trout had the better ring generalship, but Charlo landed the most eye catching punch of the round, i could see the round being a toss up.

Overall i feel like Trout made this more his type of fight. He had the better defence, cleaner effective punches, better ring generalship, and i thought he clearly won a competitive fight based on rounds 8-11.

Miguel Cotto got beaten fair and square by Antonio "The Tijuana Tornado" Margarito.
That was his level, he ain´t got a chance against Madrimov.
He would get embarassed by him just like by "Super" Zab Judah and have to resort to foul and vile tactics, the cheat.
