Wilder's next two: Chisora for IBF #1 & Usyk in '26

You don't have Wilder down as a top fighter now?!

I don't think it adds anything to Usyks resume - he's beaten far better... In Wilders current state, who would it even go above on Usyks HW resume, Witherspoon and nobody else, probably?

Neither Wilder nor Chisora deserve a big payday.

I've no idea why the Brit love affair with Chisora exists. And Wilder is as washed as my laundry was thus week. No one, and I mean no one desires a Wilder-Usyk match. No one.

 

He'll fight anyone and always would... He's not a protected, cherrypicking careerist - he's an old fashioned fighter and the sport would be so much better if more were like him.

If anything he gets underrated as a result - he's been a mixed bag at times, but he was competitive even in many of his losses.

Except Wilder himself, and Dubble, I can't think of anyone who'd want to see it...

It'd be a waste of the limited ring time we have left to enjoy Usyk in... Even as a not particularly big puncher, I reckon he'd finish it very early.

 

I'd watch it as bridger.

Usyk clearly wants a more performative phase of his career, as he has talked about fights with Pereira, "trilogies" with Fury and Joshua, and an MMA fight with Jake Paul.

I don't know why he doesn't just go down to bridger, pick up a belt (someone will probably give him one outright), and have matches against Wilder, Beterbiev...even Pereira. He should not hold the heavyweight titles hostage with garbage trilogies or exhibitions, and MMA does nothing for his legacy. But bridger WILL add to his legacy, as bridger will someday become normalized, just as cruiser and super-middle have.

As far as heavyweight fight goes...under no circumstances.

At that point Wilder could still have easily of Iced AJ, hence the fight never happening and AJ ducking Wilder, and fighting guys like Pulev, Takam and Sasha

Just make A.J./Wilder before one of them loses again. Which could be very soon. Wilder's lost the speed he had to deliver that right hand.

 

They both missed out on huge money by not fighting each other. But having seen just how shot Wilder is now, Hearn will be desperately trying to match Joshua with him because each other is about all they have left now and though the marinate spoiled years ago, there's still a buck to be made in what is now a sad side show.

 

On the heavyweight thread Check Norris just posted that the plan is to fight in South Korea in the fall, then Joshua.

 

Wilder even now would spark Del. Hope we see it

I'm not saying that Wilder beats either but styles do make fights and Wilder beating both of them wouldn't surprise me.

 

The thing is Eddie and AJ were the ones trying to make the fight with Wilder and it was Deontay who turned these offers down. So yes, AJ missed out on the huge money too, but it wasn't his fault. On the other hand he was the cash cow and earned a lot more than Wilder, who can kick himself for rejecting the best deal of his career because of his management keeping him in the witness protection programme.
