He can't possibly be the worst ducker / cherry picker as long as Tank Davis continues to do what he does. Alvarez has gone up against way more top fighters than Davis, who has gone up against almost none.

One of the best fighters at 154 of the last decade, and his “1 loss” before Canelo was more than controversial….ydksab. Your Canelo hate is old, find a new schtick.

Billy Joe Saunders is better than Andrade, Boo Boo avoided Janibek and Canelo whooped Charlos ass

Simple, throw the belt in garbage can instead of fighting him, wait a few years until he is slipping, fight him lost the fight and get a gift, use steroids, get caught and fight him again this time you get the win, still too close for comfort so you wait another three years until he is 40 and get the "deserving" W.

canelo whooped a 154 pounder with almost two years on the shelf, and never gave Lara a rematch, a fight that he lost and was gifted of an undeserving victory. He looked like a rookie in that fight, well we know he never learned how to cut a ring.

Few years? Canelo was scheduled to fight GGG 17 months after winning the title against Cotto and GGG was the first person he fought at the full 160 pound limit as well as giving him an immediate rematch. From my understanding Canelo was taking PEDs in the first fight which was apparent from his physique, he got caught which is why his scheduled rematch with GGG took place in September rather than May. After strenuous drug testing and a leaner physique, Canelo fought GGG again and beat him legitimately. He would then move up and unify the division above while GGG ducked anyone with a pulse including a 50 year old Lara, in which he ultimately gave his belt to rather than fight. Canelo fought GGG a third time at 168 despite GGG doing absolutely nothing at the weight class and people still complained. Again, explain to me how you duck someone you fought 3 times.

I agree since he lost to Bivol he appeared to ease off on going for the big challenges but fighting crawford isn't a cherry pick at all. Hopefully he does fight Benevidez, as a win would make him a top 25 atg. To be objective, I do think he was the benefactor of a number of decisions, notably GGG 1 amongst others. He seemed to win ALL the closeish fights where he could easily have taken an L if his name wasn't Canelo.

Watch literally any other Lara fight and you will understand that Canelo boxed exceptionally in that fight and that Lara is a supreme technician. Lara never moved as much as he did vs Canelo, he usually would stay in the pocket for a while, shell up, then answer back with heavy counters. But with Canelo he didn't want to take those kind of chances. I don't think you really know what cutting off the ring is either since Canelo was doing it consistently and very well against one of the best movers in the sport. Compare how Ishe Smith chased Lara all night like a puppy to how Canelo actually got him into corners and you'll see the difference between chasing and cutting off the ring and how immaculate Erislandy Lara is as a fighter.

Kinda crazy how Canelo was able to get Lara on the ropes, but completely failed to do so vs Scull.
IMO, Canelo made a few adjustments to his style after the Ryder fight, and I thought was improving, but it´s clear that hes on the decline now.

Don't know if you're talking about Jermell or Jermall but either way, he fought Jermall when he was a P4P guy and offered the fight to Jermall who turned it down. Andrade could have beaten literally anyone with a pulse and likely could have gotten a Canelo payday. Had the Saunders or Ryder fights not fallen through (and had he won them), then it was almost guaranteed that he would have gotten to fight Canelo. I won't excuse Benavidez because Canelo should have fought him by now but it's also not a bygone conclusion that that fight won't get made at all either.

Sparring is sparring. Some guys go light in sparring, some go hard, sometimes you're not focused or having a bad day or out of shape or whatever it might be. It was sparring and Bivol doesn't spar hard anyway, I've seen his sparring footage and he usually pitty-pats. I assume it's a leftover from being on the Russian team and how they (iirc) would light spar very regularly for prolonged periods like the Cubans do. Paul Spadafora beat up Mayweather in sparring but that's no indication of how that fight would go, since Mayweather was really out of shape when they sparred.

Lara was an absurdly good amateur, is a two-weight champion, and two-time champion at 154. He is an excellent technician and is good enough to beat anybody at 154 on his best day. Lara is elite, which is partly why none of the champs in his own division wanted to touch him for the better part of a decade.

    I agree mostly
Even when he fought GGG, he was competitive when others where not. GGG definitely was hard done by in the first fight especially, but many picked GGG to steam roll Canelo. Yes GGG was no spring chicken, but he wasn't ancient either

he fought Bivol who is an extremely skilled LHW with a significant size advantage. No shame in losing

Yes he has had questionable decisions, but he has normally fought top guys throughout his career and let's not forget he is probably 5'7 and started at 147

Yes, BUT it can be argued Canelo lost to GGG in his first two fights despite GGG being 35 and 36, respectively, he lost to Mayweather (36), he lost to Bivol (32) , and it can be argued he lost to Lara (32). Also, all of these fighters were aging fighters when he fought them with the possible exception of Bivol. Bivol and Canelo are the same age. And they tried to gift that decision to Canelo, even though Bivol put on a master class. 115-113 by all three judges.
