Last contest aged 26 and it was a barn burner. Last I heard he was alleged to have got into hot water over a domestic feud or something along those lines.

I, for one, miss this sensational warrior who gave it his all in every second of every contest.

I was finding the levels of damage he was taking an increasingly uncomfortable watch. Not that I wasn't enjoying his courage, but as I was watching I was thinking that this was going to take an awful toll on him, either there or then or in the years to come.

Which made him entertaining. When I watch boxing the last thing I'm worrying about is the boxers getting punched in the head.

Teds face would be unrecognisable had he continued fighting up until now. Boy that kids defence was literally sticking his neck out and taking one clean on the nose!

Let's get him back against Joe Pigford if he's still alive? If not dig him up like a Matchroom opponent

Enjoyed watching Spud out of Trainspotting in the boxing ring and he was always in entertaining fights.

His name always sounded like a crown green bowler, or the salmon fishing expert on Radio Herefordshire

He was a ring warrior. As others have said he was so brave and entertaining, but it made for a very uncomfortable and worrying watch at the same time.

I was delighted when he retired and last I heard, he had invested his money well and had started a successfull business, which is great news.

Ted was always value for money — you knew you’d get a war. But the damage he was taking by the end, especially that KO against Williamson, made it clear the clock had run out. Had he carried on, he wouldn’t have just looked like Sloth from The Goonies — he’d have started sounding like him too.

Even at the level he was fighting, it wasn’t safe anymore. And when you consider Troy’s gone 3–4 since that night and got made to look like a novice by Josh Kelly, it puts it all into perspective.

It’s likely the decision to stop wasn’t even his to make — someone around him probably stepped in. That said, I remember reading he had a few things going on outside the ring, side businesses that, according to social media at least, were doing well for him. But then again, isn’t everyone living their best life on Instagram these days?

    Cheesman always in entertaining fights.

Outside the ring lot of allegations and an admitted horrendous gambling addiction.

Every fighter has a safe shelf life, some shorter than others he gave it all in the ring but those type of careers don't make for longevity, one decision he got right was to call it.

Hopefully for him doing ok, if not 100% bet he'd be interested or offered a go on a domestic bare knuckle fighting championship card.

This is exactly what I was thinking, there is no real licensing or medicals for BK as far as I know and if he hasn't managed to sort his gambling addiction then being offered money to do this would seem attractive
